The criticism of Julio was absurdly over the top.

I think Dre was pretty good last year but its the national media who have hyped him up a lot this off season. I was pretty surprised that he was considered a top ten type pick in next year's draft or a first team All-American.

He didn't have it easy last year though. He had to cover Jeffrey, Childs, etc., in his first season. While I think Claiborne's good, he didn't have to do that. But towards the end of the year Dre was real solid.

Fwiw, Julio did suck in '09. I would've taken Darvin Adams, along with some others, over him any day of the week that season.

He had a down year but it wasn't 100% his fault, and Adams' season was as much a product of the system as Julio's performance.

There's a reason DA went undrafted.

Opposing fans undervalue current players of other teams and then overvalue them when they're gone. Player X is overrated and soft while he plays for you but as soon as he's gone he's an irreplaceable stud

Dre hasn't proven much, where as Julio had already proven a ton.

That didn't stop people last summer from saying Julio was the "third best WR on his own team".

One reason is that he didn't get to run a legit 40 yard dash because of a hamstring injury. He'll make a great pickup for someone. I'll take a guy that has less ability but produces (Darvin '09 and '10) over a guy that has great ability but can't produce (Julio '09).. Darvin was our go to guy and caught pretty much everything thrown his way. It would've also helped had he stayed his senior year.

Trent Richardson is overrated also. 13th best back in the SEC.

Dre may be the most overrated player in the SEC. All because he was a great HS player and has great physical tools. Xavier Carter had great physical tools too. The guy hasn't proven jack on the football field. If he puts it all together this year and earns the hype, good for him...but all this premature projectile ejaculation by the Bama nation is why he catches so much shite about being overrated. BTW, Julio came right out of the gate as a true freshman and showed why he was the #1 WR coming out of HS...he had a sophmore slump like many do and took a little hell for it...but he put it all together his JR year. He shut people up. Maybe Dre will do the same but to date, he hasn't earned it.

I would have been okay with the Falcons giving up what they did for AJ. Doing it for Julio was ridiculous.

Something tells me their NFL careers will suggest differently, considering the organization that A.J. is in, and an unsettled QB situation.

Another reason is he wasn't thought very highly of by NFL scouts.

Most Alabama fans play it up because you tards get so pissed about it. FWIW, I'm pretty sure most 'Bama fans think more highly of DeQuan Menzie at corner.

Which has absolutely nothing to do with who is better.

AJ had 3 different QBs throwing to him in college and still produced. I don't think an unsettled QB is going to keep him from succeeding in Cincy.

I'd say you could switch out Dre for DeQuan and it's the same argument.

And hell no I don't, they both are getting hyped with no substance to back it up...
