You are going to believe what you want. That said, we'll let time do the talking. You will understand more clearly in the future.

You didn’t even reply to me....I just made the comment out of nowhere, but congrats on winning this debate that i’m not even sure took place. I’m tryna help you. You are malicious in everyone of your comments. That’s an obvious sign of insecurity.

Mullen is there to stay. Every 6 years what?

We would match anything Florida offers.

Starkville is about as fun as Auburn. Mullen stays and we will have a pretty good season next year.

quote:

Would the fans like his recruiting methods? Dan doesn't get star struck, in fact, he doesn't give a flip about stars. He bases most of his emphasis on how well guys perform in front of his own eyes. If a 2 star outperforms a 4 star at camp, guess what?..the 2 star gets the offer and then fans flip out about it when their recruiting ranking drops. It took our fans a while to understand what was going on here. After 5+ years no one is complaining anymore. There are many things to consider and that's assuming that Dan and Megan would even entertain the idea of going back to Gainesville for the SAME amount of money Dan would get at State.

Weird how these are negative things now, OP.

quote:

Factually incorrect. I think yesterday's performance is indicative of Mullen's recruiting classes. I'm not sure if you people will ever learn how this works Not competing with the big dogs in recruiting. Beating the big dogs on the field. Counter intuitive much??

quote:

Mullen won't go to Florida. He likes Starkville better. His wife likes Starkville better. Nicer people in Mississippi.

For a guy who knew Mullen was overrated you sure seemed like you wanted him to stay in Starkvegas.

I'll let you live in your fantasyland now, though.

A kid would only know State with Mullen as HC and wouldn't know the full extent of just how much State is capable of sucking

Nope, I'm glad he's gone. An any real MSU fan is too, and for good reason. All you know is just little bits and pieces of message board fodder, and are a true idiot on the subject. Like I said, you will be more learned in a couple of years. In good ways and in bad ways.

Mississippi used to have great drinking water when I was a kid visiting my aunt and uncle (who, btw, was a big state fan). Then everyone got plumbing and it ate up their small brains.

Face it...Mullen is gone, stop acting like a teenage girl jilted by the football player after he had his way with her.

Mullen got sick and tired of fried catfish every night.

I always get amused at some of the posters on here. BJ likes to give us State folks h*ll and of course the last couple of years , Auburn has drilled us.

But on to Mullen being overrated. He was not overrated in anyway. He gets dinged for his recruiting but the strategy he used starting in 2008-09 was sound. He recognized that for State to be successful, we had to recruit MS hard. We were not in a position to recruit highly touted OOS HS players at that time.

As time evolved we did start recruiting OOS successfully, I might add, witness players like Dak, JRob, Day, F Ross, KThompson etc.
Did he miss on some players? Absolutely, especially AJ Brown, Raekwon Davis, C Akers and others in state who got away.
So I don’t pretend that he was a great coach and/or great recruiter.

However, he did have a sound plan that he implemented at State and it generally worked well. We were competitive and had success against 11 of the other 13 teams. Bama being the obvious exception and LSU the other team, though we had closed the gap with them the last 4 years. We were competitive w/Auburn over 6 years but then got drilled the last two years.

Bottom line is, he did a very good job at State, not perfect by any means, but his system provided for development of players and generally your starters were RS Jr and Sr’s w/a few exceptions along the way. Some of your fans complained that more talented under class players were sitting on the bench or not playing as starters in lieu of more veteran players. To his credit he stuck to his guns with that system and it worked. I for one appreciated the way he coached. He rewarded players who developed and waited their turn. That is actually a diminishing quality in the present day and it was refreshing to see him stick to his system.
Today we are all about microwave results when a crock pot strategy is more sound but requires some patience.

Finally, I credit Mullen with Moorhead ‘s ability to recruit to a higher level now and in the future. Without the success that Mullen has had we would not be in a position today to recruit even better.

The timing of this change was perfect in my opinion. Mullen had gotten about as far as he could at State and it was time to move on. For Moorhead, he seems to have the right qualities to step in and maintain what State has accomplished over the recent years with a decent chance to have us even better over the next few years.

Will that happen? I don’t know but I think we will in fact continue to be solid and very good in the future with a possible drop off here and there (in the SEC , it is inevitable for every team not named Bama).

Stomp or whoever the frick you are, maybe you should tell Urban Meyer about small scatbacks in the SEC..Jeff Demps was a 170lb lightning bolt RB who took dive plays many times up the middle...when he did escape the line no one could catch him. As I recall Meyer won some hardware at UF.

Answer this one hoss...
Who were Demps' offensive linemen?

MSST fans can't even count.

I wish ya'll listened to your boy's real take on Dan Mullen up there. Not this silly "Hey, we're still attractive. Dan only went to that other girl...because...because...reasons."

We're prettier, get over it.
