$250k each

Not intended to trash Auburn, but how does this not divide a team ? How do you determine the top 24 ?

This new era of college football kind of sucks.

so will all the neutral site games go away unless they funnel NIL to participants?
why should baylor play in the game if they don't get NIL?

They also get a % of gate receipts. Every team has these disparities now.

It doesn't say anything about the "top 24" players, just that it will be split amongst up to 24 players. They will be obligated to do certain advertising committments for the game.

The entire team will also be getting a revenue sharing portion of ticket sales.

I hate the arrangement. I feel bad for the businesses.

Getting to pay spoiled entitled kids is okay I guess

It's a terrible decision especially for the kids who barely missed the cut. Can you image how pissed off you'd be if your were 20 and lost out on $250k for something arbitrary like this?

Idiotic move to accept this template. Nothing could be more divisive. Some guys are gonna block less for the money men.

Offensive lineman already block for overpaid QB’s.

Because they already played Auburn at Baylor last season.

Do all Bama players get the same salary? How does Bama decide which players get more NIL money than others? Will different salaries divide the team?

Well, you are a Bama fan, so……

I am sure you will immediately agree Bama should pay every one of its players the exact same amount on NIL money, …right? Cause that is essentially what you are criticizing Auburn for.

Waiting,…..waiting,……

Checking my notes here; moving the Auburn vs Baylor game from Jordan Hare Stadium to Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta is #147 on the list of "Shite that John Cohen has fricked up" since being hired as the AD at Auburn. The quicker his dumb arse gets tossed into the sun, the better. I would happily take Jay Jacobs back as our AD. Atleast with Jay, we never had to speculate if he loved Auburn and if he was Auburn to his core.

What about 25 through 30 that are playing on special teams? Could you blame them for being pissed? This split is a very bad idea.

Sounds to me like the Peach Bowl is basically signing some Auburn players to NIL deals.

For all the hand wringers, do you think that all players get the same NIL opportunities? That's basically why profit sharing was introduced, to ensure that all athletes are getting a piece of the pie.

quote:

Up to 24 Tigers athletes will enter into third-party deals that include marketing assets and promotional appearances, starting in July through the Sept. 5 game, the Peach Bowl said. They will participate in social media posts, public appearances, advertisements, in-game promotions and media interviews while also appearing on signage and branding opportunities.

Hope that Instagram post doesn't wear them out.

I really don't get spending the money from a business standpoint. No one is going to buy a product or tune in just because the tight end was paid. I get paying the few true name "stars" to push a product...but all this other stuff...just don't see the ROI.
