Don’t worry the playoffs will be expanded to 60 teams so everyone will be able to compete. A few losses won’t matter

The championship game is NOT irrelevant. The committee made that clear last year.

The same reason 16 games in the NFL became 17. It's very very very very very very very important for billionaires to get a little bit more money. Obviously only 16 was really compromising their quality of life.

The issue is they’re trying to make 2 conferences even, that will never be even

Like it or not the SEC is Mizzou's Conference now. The SEC is AM's Conference now. The SEC is Texas's Conference now. The SEC is Oklahomas Conference now.
I could talk about the Big 8 and how great that conference was. I could talk about the Big 12. Bottom line you big woosie is the old SEC is GONE..

Sec scheduling has been really bad in some spots.
For instance lsu hasn't been to Athens but twice in the last 20 years.

It’s all about money and it’s been that way for well over decade now. Do you still drive a 70s grambler or Pacer. Even starting thread on a topic well over a decade old using AOL Dial up is embarrassing. Just rewatch you original sec teams on YouTube if you want the nostalgia of the good old days.

Think AFC (SEC) and NFC (Big10).
32 Schools. 16 per league
SEC adds two to make 20 ( Clemson, Fl St, Texas Tech, UNC)
New league called National College Football League. NCFL.
league has a Commissioner ( rotated every 3 Years between Sec and Big 10)
League establishes rules not related or subservient to the NCAA.( just Football)
Tv deals negotiated jointly like NFL.
Have a Draft.
Establish pay levels like NFL.( of course lower )
Teams limited by pay caps and if go over penalties.
Players must be enrolled and taking minimum 12 semester hours and Attendance mandatory. Maximum 6 years of playing time.
Congress grants anti trust like NFL
Other leagues could do same. Eventually 2 leagues or 80 schools .
One day have Super Bowl that Saturday of Super Bowl Sunday.
I used to think this was a pie in the sky scenario. Not anymore.
Ah, the good ole days of waking up on a Saturday and watching ABC wide world of Sports on a Black and White Tv . No talking heads on social media before the game or radio after the game. Just waiting for Sunday afternoon for the Paul Bear Bryant show sponsored by Coke and Golden Flake Potato Chips.

Heaven forbid OP the powers that be actually give the fans a bone and give us another game worth paying for v keeping Poop State on the schedule.
Texas A&M has been in the conference since 2012 and hasn't played in Lexington once. Zero times. Nada. Zilch. Thats fricking aabsurd.
So yeah, I'd rather have another SEC game on the schedule than see Troy or Southern Miss.

I can see teams not scheduling quality OOC opponents like missou does.
It won’t be good for fans who like to see a Notre Dame come in occasionally but in order for a coach to keep his job and the program avoid a buyout decisions have to be made.
I don’t care one way or another, I just want to watch games with my friends and family and move on. No big deal.
