Since only about 12-15 percent of millennials served in the military, I'm gonna need further explanation here. How do you explain the rest "fought wars", their "entire life". What does this mean?

Because standing for the song shows respect for those brave men and women who have their lives to preserve the land of the free. Do you even listen to the words? It is when they choose to kneel that is disrespectful.

Lets be frank, even veterans today have to fight tooth and nail for decent health services (especially mental health services) from the VA. When we're more than capable as a country to take care of our veterans.

Maybe some of the faux outrage over athletes kneeling should be directed at our government failing many who have served.

Trump should take that money for the wall and use it to fund the VA.

It's horseshite the defense budget doesn't cover that anyway.

Throughout history the average life of a democracy is 200 years. We're almost at 250 yrs. Are we at the edge of the end??? I sure hope not, although changes must be made in the way this country is governed. The Democrats, Republicans, Liberals, Conservatives, Blacks, Hispanics and any other group not named here, will never be able to exist together. Thats just the way it is. If I remember correctly, Nikita Kruschev, the head of the USSR at that time, said, after the Cuban missile crisis, the United States would fall from within. Thats where we are my fellow countrymen. We cant work together because of greed and power hungry politicians. Personal agendas and power for the party takes priority over whats best for the country. Its quite obvious our leaders cant see the trees because the forest is in the way.

if you kneel for the anthem you’re a fricking idiot

I generally continue doing whatever the frick I was doing prior to it starting (unless of course it is specifically being played to honor a specific individual or military/government event). Only in those situations does it really serve any meaningful purpose. Playing it at a sporting event is just pandering and pointless. It’s not like sports is only an American institution.

Keep that victim mentality going. Nobody in this thread is lynching or forcing anyone to the back of a bus.

Nope. They are just using legal means to get the same results now. When was the last time you saw a middle aged, middle/upper class white woman going to jail on drug charges even though they are the largest population of opioid abusers in the country? Now how many young, black men are incarcerated for marijuana?

Kneeling for the anthem is direspecting the flag. At least that is my view and a whole bunch of others. If it right wrong or indifferent that's the way most look at it.

Who are you to tell others what to do? What gives you the right to dictate the actions of others?

I love when the kneelers say they aren’t disrespecting the flag, military, America, etc...that’s just cute...hell, the “hate group” who marched in Oxford said they aren’t racists...words mean shite, actions mean everything...

If you like paying 60-70 percent of everything you own to the government then by all means move to one of those countries. I’ve been all around the globe due to military travel, and I saw poverty, poverty, and more poverty. It actually gave a young, spoiled American brat like myself, a lot of perspective on just how good we have it. Oh yeah, and I gained that perspective after growing up in the shittiest state in America.

Except the people in these countries who you claim pay all their money in taxes are still able to afford all the same shite we got here. I’ve been all over the world too. Lived in many of theses countries for a brief time. They have better roads, better infrastructure, better hospitals, are a healthier people as a group, and still have homes, cars, new technologies, etc. AND their rate of poverty is far below that of the United States.

Are there worse places to live that the United States? Of course. But to think it’s the best in this day? That’s just asinine.
