Not a bad point. A problem I have, among others, with adding a team like Oklahoma into the "Southeastern" Conference is that Oklahoma is not geographically located in the Southeast. Seems like a joke of a name at that point.

If that’s your worry, how would Texas or Missouri be considered in the “southeast” then? We already lost that geographic distinction when we took Texas A&M & Mizzou

Yeah, honestly I’d prefer UNC or UVA over OU.

OU has the branding, but UNC or UVA brings 10x the number of TVs to the conference and prevents us from becoming the SEC-SWC conference.

Why do we have to take both?

Take OU and tell Texas to frick off.

Are you truly that blind? Wherever they go essentially starts the super conferences. The SeC is going to sit by and watch other conferences realign again and just stay complacent as is.

That's extremely dumb

It also doesn't make sense to tell them No and then get second pickings like Va Tech and NC state
Neither of those schools would bring anything to sec on the level UT and Ou would.

It's going to take a hell of a lot more than adding Oklahoma and Texas to the Pac12 to make it a super conference.

Super conferences are stupid.

It doesn't mean shite if they can't win games and nobody in the PAC XX is winning enough games to make the playoffs, and Oregon and MAYBE USC are the only ones even close. Your brand isn't worth a shite if it's attached to a shitty product and if you don't believe that, ask Coke about New Coke. It almost singlehandedly tarnished one of the most recognizable brands on the planet.

Finebaum is a clown. SEC should be embarrassed that big eared dweeb is their mouthpiece.

UNC, Duke and UVA must come as a package. They will not split. You have to understand the relationship these schools have with each other. Not going to happen as long as the ACC remains intact.

Finebaum

... maybe he needs to give the Longhorn Network a try.

TV's already wrecked NASCAR don't think they can't do it to college football.

No eastern teams wanted

VT and NC State would fit perfectly in my opinion. Plus would add two new states and a new region we didn’t have before.

Virginia and UNC would be better, but neither are coming

One dominant conference, but (even more) difficult to get out of alive, and the winner is almost assured to win it all.

More even conferences, with a regular season similar to now, but potentially more difficult games in the playoffs.

Dominant conference. Imagine getting to play every team from the other pods (11 teams) every two years and go there every 4 years?

That last line is the key right there. There’s no guarantee the ACC remains intact. The wheels are now in motion thanks to Texas and OU and nothing is safe. The BigXII is crumbling before our eyes and the PAC and ACC aren’t as safe as they want to believe. At least the ACC can try to leverage the ND card. But the B1G and the SEC are shopping for the most lucrative pieces to be a winner in this expansion and they won’t respect borders. Syracuse and UVa and Duke could be in play for the B1G. Clemson, UNC, Nc State, Va Tech could be on the SEC’s list. This is a long way from finished, the first couple of dominoes are just starting to fall.

I’ve slept on it and I’m all for it.
Adjust the divisions and do away with the permanent cross division rivals, and let’s go! I’m excited for the matchups it’ll bring!

Let’s be honest. All the SEC front office is looking at is immediately money and potential revenue. Match ups, rivalries, etc are irrelevant. And if this means more money and future stability for the conference, then Texas and OU are in.

So Texas and OU are in.

I agree with you - but that’s because I share a fans logic with you. Comes down to media markets/population/viewership- and sec more or less doesn’t have much market share to grab in the east. Would assume with addition of TX & OK - you get even more of the Houston/dfw/San antone markets- as well as additional pieces of other national markets due to the “brands”

Oh- and i guess OKC - but doubt that’s on anyone’s pitch deck
