I've posted this before, and I think it's still the best if LSU has to give up Bama every year:
Alabama Auburn Miss. State Tennessee
Arkansas Missouri Oklahoma Texas
Auburn Alabama Georgia So. Carolina
Florida Georgia Kentucky LSU
Georgia Auburn Florida So. Carolina
Kentucky Florida Tennessee Vanderbilt
LSU Florida Ole Miss Texas A&M
Ole Miss LSU Miss. State Vanderbilt
Miss. State Alabama Ole Miss Texas A&M
Missouri Arkansas Oklahoma So. Carolina
Oklahoma Arkansas Missouri Texas
So. Carolina Auburn Georgia Missouri
Tennessee Alabama Kentucky Vanderbilt
Texas Arkansas Oklahoma Texas A&M
Texas A&M LSU Miss. State Texas
Vanderbilt Kentucky Ole Miss Tennessee
Alabama Auburn Miss. State Tennessee
Arkansas Missouri Oklahoma Texas
Auburn Alabama Georgia So. Carolina
Florida Georgia Kentucky LSU
Georgia Auburn Florida So. Carolina
Kentucky Florida Tennessee Vanderbilt
LSU Florida Ole Miss Texas A&M
Ole Miss LSU Miss. State Vanderbilt
Miss. State Alabama Ole Miss Texas A&M
Missouri Arkansas Oklahoma So. Carolina
Oklahoma Arkansas Missouri Texas

easy solution if it is that important to you
Schedule the teams that you don’t play each year OOC in the years they aren’t on your schedule.
If you don’t like that idea, then the game isn’t as important as you say that it is..
I suspect the problem with this idea is getting Kentucky to agree to it when they already have Louisville on the schedule each year.
Bottom line: there is an avenue to play the game if it is important to both teams

This makes no sense for SC.
it makes little sense for UF

UGA and AU are the two most played SEC teams for SC. As far as Mizzou, someone has to to play them, and to be honest no one wants to play SC either, so they get to play each other.

All three are in UF's top 4 SEC teams played. AU being the other.
I don't think AU is going to get UA, UGA and UF as their 3 permanents.

Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Tennessee should be permanent opponents. But I am seeing some formats with neither Vandy or Tennessee playing an annual game with Kentucky. I know the argument, but screw it.
And why are you still in the SEC? You are the proverbial patsy to whoever gets the privilege to load up on Vandy every year.

Since Arkansas joined the SEC 30+ years ago with several scheduling shuffles, they have played Vanderbilt 8 times and Kentucky 8 times.
I believe we’ve played Georgia 11 times since joining the SEC but 2 of those were SEC championship games.
It’s odd that when we get Kentucky or Vandy they have good teams. We’ve had some great games with Kentucky though.

I give no fricks who we play. Not gonna go 12-0 anyway

AU isnt even close to one of our two most played.
UGA absolutely and we want them. UF/UT/UK one or two of those three next

41 - Tennessee
34 - Kentucky
32 - Vanderbilt

nobody around Gamecock football is expecting any favors to Carolina when the scheduling is announced. USC & Arkansas have regularly been pushed aside since 1992. aTm & Missouri more so since 2012. the way the news of UT-Austin joining broke at SEC football media days showed us all that much.
if the 3/6 model is adopted - B'ham will bend over for whatever ESPN wants as the 3 perms for ratings alone.

LSU has had to endure playing in the west with Florida as our permanent east opponent for years then dealing with UGA with the rotation.
Imagine being such a bleeding gash about playing florida that you completely miss what op is saying.
He is not complaining about how hard possible opponents are, he's annoyed two annual opponents (at least one of which is a legit rival in tennesee) could be relegated for matches with much less history.

offering you a solution to your problem..
is somehow.. me making rules..

I didn’t say you had to play them you bozo.
Texas and Oklahoma played OOC for a long time. Florida and FSU and a lot of others do as well..
There are ways to play games that are important.. that’s all I was saying.. but since you were a clown, the problem is.. well you know the problem, don’t you.

1st permanent
Texas vs Oklahoma
Alabama vs Auburn
Arkansas vs Missouri
Florida vs Georgia
Tennessee vs Vanderbilt
LSU vs Texas A&M
Kentucky vs South Carolina
Ole Miss vs Mississippi State
* I don’t think anyone argues any of these.
2nd permanent
Alabama vs Tennessee
Georgia vs Auburn
Texas vs Arkansas
Oklahoma vs Missouri
* I don’t think anyone argues any of these.
So that leaves these 8 teams.
LSU
Florida
Texas A&M
Ole Miss
Mississippi State
Kentucky
South Carolina
Vanderbilt
So how do you arrange these 8 teams so that all matchups make sense?
OPTION 1
LSU vs Ole Miss
Florida vs South Carolina
Miss State vs Texas A&M
Vanderbilt vs Kentucky
This is the best option imo.
OPTION 2
LSU vs Florida
Texas A&M vs South Carolina
Ole Miss vs Vanderbilt
Miss State vs Kentucky
This option makes a lot of sense, but if you go this route, then you couldn’t have LSU play Alabama in the 3rd round as LSU would have a very unbalanced schedule.
OTHER OPTIONS
Some hybrid of those 2. Let’s see what you come up with..
Does anyone agree or disagree with this thought process?
Texas vs Oklahoma
Alabama vs Auburn
Arkansas vs Missouri
Florida vs Georgia
Tennessee vs Vanderbilt
LSU vs Texas A&M
Kentucky vs South Carolina
Ole Miss vs Mississippi State

What’s the projected scheduling?
Posted on 5/1/23 at 6:13 pm to southpawcock
Not sure but I think to make things work they were going to give us a permanent game with Oklahoma instead of someone like Tennessee.

If you choose Option 1 above for the 2nd Perm..
Perm 3
Texas vs Texas A&M
Alabama vs LSU
Auburn vs Vanderbilt *
Georgia vs Kentucky *
Florida vs Oklahoma *
* have to be played to follow the 2/1 rule for balancing purposes
That leaves these teams..
Tennessee
Arkansas
Missouri
Ole Miss
Miss State
South Carolna
Option 1
Tennessee vs Kentucky
Arkansas vs Ole Miss
Miss State vs Missouri
There isn’t a perfect way to arrange these 6 teams unless you break the 2/1 rule.
Option 2 - Break the 2/1 Rule
Texas vs A&M
Alabama vs LSU
Georgia vs SC
Tennessee vs Kentucky
Oklahoma vs Florida
Missouri vs Vanderbilt
Arkansas vs Miss State
Auburn vs Ole Miss
I am going with Option 2 with these perms
So SC & Ole Miss get two teams from the top and Kentucky & Vanderbilt get no teams from the top.
Before you think that is crazy or unfair..
Kentucky Schedule
Tennessee
Vanderbilt
South Carolina
Alabama or Auburn
Florida or Georgia
Texas or Oklahoma
LSU or Texas A&M
Arkansas or Missouri
Ole Miss or Miss State
That schedule is still hard as shite.
So who isn’t happy with those perms?
Perm 3

Florida vs Oklahoma *
* have to be played to follow the 2/1 rule for balancing purposes

Texas vs A&M
Alabama vs LSU
Georgia vs SC
Tennessee vs Kentucky

Missouri vs Vanderbilt
Arkansas vs Miss State
Auburn vs Ole Miss
I am going with Option 2 with these perms
quote:
Alabama > Auburn, LSU + Tennessee
Auburn > Alabama, Georgia + Ole Miss
Georgia > Florida, Auburn + SC
Florida > Georgia, Oklahoma + SC
Texas > Oklahoma, A&M + Arkansas
Oklahoma > Texas, Florida + Missouri
LSU > A&M, Alabama + Ole Miss
A&M > LSU, Texas + Miss State
Arkansas > Missouri, Miss State + Texas
Missouri > Arkansas, Vanderbilt + OU
Ole Miss > MIss State + LSU + Auburn
Miss State > Ole Miss, Arkansas + A&M
Tennessee > Vanderbilt, Kentucky + Alabama
Vanderbilt > TN, Kentucky, Missouri
Kentucky > SC, Vanderbilt, Tennessee
SC > Kentucky + Georgia + Florida
So SC & Ole Miss get two teams from the top and Kentucky & Vanderbilt get no teams from the top.
Before you think that is crazy or unfair..

Aren't the perms pretty much known at this point? Kelly has already revealed that ours are Bama, OM and A&M. Saban is already complaining about LSU, UT and Auburn.
