If you don’t break the 2/1 rule and go with Option 1..

Permanents

Alabama > Auburn, LSU + Tennessee
Auburn > Alabama, Georgia + Vanderbilt
Georgia > Florida, Auburn + Kentucky
Florida > Georgia, Oklahoma + SC
Texas > Oklahoma, A&M + Arkansas
Oklahoma > Texas, Florida + Missouri
LSU > A&M, Alabama + Ole Miss
A&M > LSU, Texas + Miss State

Arkansas > Missouri, Ole Miss + Texas
Missouri > Arkansas, Miss State + OU
Ole Miss > MIss State, Arkansas + LSU
Miss State > Ole Miss, Missouri + A&M
Tennessee > Vanderbilt, SC + Alabama
Vanderbilt > TN, Kentucky + Auburn
Kentucky > SC, Vanderbilt + Georgia
SC > Kentucky, Tennessee + Florida

See underlined games
Switch Missouri to play Vanderbilt instead of Miss State
Switch Kentucky to play Miss State instead of Vanderbilt

and you get the exact permanent opponents as listed by Ross Dellinger..

Aren't the perms pretty much known at this point? Kelly has already revealed that ours are Bama, OM and A&M. Saban is already complaining about LSU, UT and Auburn

Yes, I was just proving out why we can believe them to be true. I think they are exactly as Ross Dellenger posted.

but what I posted a couple of weeks ago, and I still find interesting..

LSU perm are A&M, Alabama & Ole Miss

Thanksgiving rolls around.. who is LSU playing?

Alabama? Nope. Iron Bowl.
Ole Miss? Nope. Egg Bowl.

that leaves three options
1) Texas A&M
2) Random OOC Opponent
3) Rotating SEC Opponent

If it’s a rotating SEC Opponent.. It can’t be..
Texas
Texas A&M
Alabama
Auburn
Kentucky
Florida
Ole Miss
Miss State
South Carolina
Georgia
Tennessee
Vanderbilt

All have games scheduled.

That leaves Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma

Doesn’t make sense to rotate those, but you could do this schedule every thanksgiving
1) LSU vs A&M
2) Texas vs Arkansas
3) Oklahoma vs Missouri

Texas vs A&M gets played in September or some other time. It works and makes a lot of sense imo.

What if Bedlam (OU vs. Ok St) resumes?
Or the Border War (Mizzou v Kansas)?

I hope they do.

And I would love for UT West and A&M to return to Thanksgiving weekend.

Leaving LSU to start playing Tulane again annually.

Maybe? But if LSU plays Tulane, that means

Texas vs A&M
Oklahoma vs Missouri
Arkansas vs ________

Maybe one of them plays Oklahoma State.

I just think LSU and A&M likely play that weekend.

Football didn't start in 1990, and there were actually rivalries back in the old 10-team SEC.

It'd be great to have Georgia Tech back in the Conference and playing Tennessee again on a yearly basis. I was a little kid back in the mid 60s when Tech left the SEC, and those yearly games between the Vols and Jackets were really something.

Every team will probably not get the 3 that they want. They should let every team pick the 3 they most want by 1st 2nd and 3rd priority and make it match that the best it can. For South Carolina, #1 would be Georgia. We had a regular history with them long before we joined the SEC. I know we would not be their first pick but it would be hard to list anyone else as their 3rd pick behind Auburn and Florida. And based on history, our 2nd and 3rd would be Florida and Tennessee.

I've posted this before, and I think it's still the best if LSU has to give up Bama every year: Alabama Auburn Miss. State Tennessee Arkansas Missouri Oklahoma Texas Auburn Alabama Georgia So. State Alabama Ole Miss Texas A&M Missouri Arkansas Oklahoma So. Carolina Oklahoma Arkansas Missouri Texas So. Florida doesn’t want lsu as a permanent opponent. They want Georgia Tennessee and kentucky or South Carolina

Thanksgiving weekend should be
Texas vs A&M
Missouri vs OU
ARKANSAS VS LSU

Arkansas three permanent opponent’s should be Texas, A&M, LSU/OU

Texas should be OU Arkansas, A&M

A&M should be Arkansas, Texas, LSU

LSU should be Arkansas/Alabama, A&M, Ole miss.

OU should be Texas, Missouri, and kentucky/vandy/Arkansas

Idk about the rest.

I think you guys will get:
Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky

I think they are definitely going with the 2/1 rule. That eliminates the possibility that SC could have Florida & Georgia. I realize that Tennessee should be in the top 8 group.. but they aren’t for whatever reason.

LSU > A&M, Alabama + Ole Miss

So LSU & Arkansas can’t play an annual Thanksgiving game, unless they schedule OOC 2 out of 4 years.. which is possible I guess

The 2/1 rule wouldn’t allow LSU to have Arkansas and Ole Miss as permanent rivals. Not saying I agree with it.. but they are using that rule.

For SC I hope it's the following:

UGA/Florida/Kentucky or Vandy

Anything is better than the current ‘rotation’ but the 9 gamer w playing everyone home and away within 4 years is the obvious way to go. Checks all the boxes

I haven't seen anything official on this, from what I understood, we haven't even figured out if it's going to be an eight or nine game conference schedule. I think the consensus is (rightfully) that a 3+6 format makes the most sense.

I've attempted this several times, there is no perfect way to do three permanent rivals, but here's what I currently have (first opponent is rivalry week):

Mizzou: Oklahoma, Arkansas, Vanderbilt
Arkansas: LSU, Mizzou, Texas
Oklahoma Mizzou, Texas, Texas A&M
Texas: A&M, Oklahoma, Arkansas
Texas A&M: Texas, Miss St, Oklahoma
LSU: Arkansas, Ole Miss, Florida
Ole Miss: Miss St, LSU, Auburn
Miss St: Ole Miss, A&M, Alabama
Alabama: Auburn, Tennessee, Miss St
Auburn: Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss
Vanderbilt: Tennessee, Kentucky, Mizzou
Tennessee: Vanderbilt, Alabama, Kentucky
Kentucky: SCAR, Vanderbilt, Tennessee
SCAR: Kentucky, Florida, Georgia
Georgia: Florida, Auburn, SCAR
Florida: Georgia, SCAR, LSU

I've posted this before, but I came up with this for a 20-team SEC with a 4-5 schedule, and I think it actually works better than a 3-6 16-team schedule:

Drop the program you have played more than any other team throughout the history of your program and replace them with the team that you've played less than 8 other conference teams...but that is your new "permanent rival" rotation...that makes sense.
