This is why I don't pay attention to "experts" like this.

They literally have to hype someone up. So it's just a next in line type thing. Being an Oklahoma QB who is returning, he is next in line.

They use the same basic scripts every year. How many "generational talents" have we seen in the past few years?

Naw dummy. He played against garbage defense in the SEC. same as the Big 12. How would you explain Tuas inability to be worth a damn in the NFL? As far as the top 30, he was gifted a starting position in the NFL. Definitely not earned.

When was the last time the Big12 won a playoff game? I'll wait.

not implying he's elite either but last year Howell had better completion pct and a higher qb rating

Howell is very much in the elite status for college QBs this season. He’s been a very big reason for UNc’s surge back into relevancy.

More than Bryce Young, who Alabama fans are already hyping up as better than Tua.

Its all some bizarre fascination with OU, they would be a 2,3 loss SEC team every friggin year, which is an accomplishment but they don't deserve to ever be number one and there players really arent the best at anything if they cant ever when the big one.

OU should be permanently rated 5th.

I agree. He plays for Lincoln Riley, but nonetheless, he isn't anything special. If he played for another head coach, he'd be rated as slightly better than average.

He's also at Oklahoma, and in the Big 12. He will generate absurd numbers regardless. Defense in the Big 12 is treated like leprosy.

He plays for a second-rate school in a second-rate conference against second-rate competition. Hence, his stats are padded.

Bryce Young has to be the tiniest and frailest QB to play in the SEC in the past 30 years. No way that dude doesn't get knocked out of several games during the season and when he does, then that's when Bama will inevitably be beat.

Oklahoma and the big 12 are playing better defense than the SEC now. Also you think the best UGA team in 40 years beat a perennial 3 loss SEC team in double OT in a playoff game?

What kind of idiot are you?
You've apparently been living on Alabama boards, and getting the wrong vibes!

Now compare this with Coral who we can all admit played against a lot tougher opponents!

Rattler finished his year really strong. He threw 5 picks in his first 4 games and only 2 more the rest of the year in his first year as a starter. He will likely only improve.

There isn’t a real superstar QB in this class yet but OU QBs are a safe bet.

He beat down Florida. I'm not sure what returning QB looked better in their last appearance. I always think the OU hype is a joke, but if and Alabama returning QB played as well as Rattler in their last appearance you'd say he was a Heisman front runner.

Florida was NOT the Florida that played so well all season. Almost all the players that got them there were absent in that game. Even still, he had a good game but let's not act like that was the Florida squad that won the SEC East.
