Not melting but the game against FSU was pointless. Just schedule Grambling as the opener every year and we are sitting in the top 10.

Why the going back and schedule Grambling would get LSU to only 1 loss matters? It never happened and move on you and some other LSU fans are going to have to accept that Kelly will not be the one to get LSU back to being a champion.

I knew LSU would be the one winning because LSU have one of the better quarterbacks and I will say this Alabama is the team to beat since LSU will not be winning it because Nick Saban doesn't want to lose two in a row against LSU. LSU lost to Ole Miss! How could Brian Kelly let that happened? Nick and Alabama had it easy against Kiffin and Ole Miss. I see the Tide has turn in Alabama favor to win the west division this year. Drinkwitz has ways to go and is slowly building the football program. I am happy for the way Mizzou has played so far and getting better as the season plays on.

To be fair, you also swore A&M would win the West this year so we can all agree that you're a dumbass and have no idea what you're talking about.

As usual about this time of year, the pretenders get exposed.

If we win out, rankings will adjust to LSU

We have lost two games. The CFP rankings are simply not relevant to LSU, at least not yet.

I did say Texas A&M was going to win the west division. I did get mad at Texas A&M for their failure in football.
But I am still keeping my word about LSU not going to win a championship with Kelly as the HC.

You wouldn’t see a problem with LSU getting left out of the playoffs despite beating UGA in the championship?

With two losses? No. I could fully understand it.

In what sport does a conference winner get left out of the post season?
College football. It has happened before.

quote:

Are you telling me 2019 Alabama doesn’t potentially win it all if they get in a 12 team playoff?

No. I am telling you that when you bring 8 additional teams to the playoffs you will probably have at least 4 blowout games in the course of the playoffs. While it might have happened, I don't remember a single time in which the playoffs did not feature at least one blowout...and that is with 4 teams. Do you think adding worse teams will make them more competitive?

quote:

College football has the least entertaining post season in all of sports. And if you think are larger post season dilutes the regular season you are wrong.
So, you think Alabama, LSU and Georgia are going to sweat the playoffs when they are expanded to 12 teams? OSU and Michigan? Who cares if you lose a game or two? The # 10,11 and 12 ranked teams has 3,3 and 4 losses last year. The # 11 and 12 teams had 3 and 4 losses two years ago.

Lose 4 games? no problem. You still go to the playoffs.

College football has the least entertaining post season in all of sports.
So you are glued to hockey, basketball and baseball early rounds? When half the teams make the playoffs? "Everybody gets a trophy!" Hooray.

quote:

Look at college basketball. Plenty of exciting games in the regular season that have NET ranking implications
I wouldn't know. I don't watch basketball. I honestly don't see a whole lot of people buzzing about regular season games on here a whole lot, either.

Meh. If we're there in 2024 at this point, it's still win-and-get-in.

Like always, LSU/Bama is a mini-playoff for the West. If we're 14th in week 10 next year, I'd presume this game will once again tell the tale.

We have way too much football left to give a shite at this point. We were in a similar spot last year and went into A&M #5 (and then shite the bed).

I don't blame you for not realizing that, you're not used to being in any of these conversations in November.

Right. That needs to change. Thankfully it is because its idiotic.

The New York Giants won the superbowl after finishing 9-7. If teams drop a game or two in the early season, then win out who knows.

Look at 2012. You had 5-6 teams just in the SEC that were playoff worthy. LSU, Georgia, Alabama, Texas A&M, and Florida.

Every year I bet you can go and find a 2-3 loss team that got hot at the end of the year.

Yes. The NHL playoffs are some of the most intense games in any sport.

Not me. I’m glad. Being #2 should fire up the Dawgs big time. They play their best when they are being doubted and Kirby is a master at using things like this. All that hooping and hollering heard last night in Athens was Kirby turning cartwheels in his driveway. He was trying to figure out how to best motivate his team and he got it handed to him about 8pm last night.
