Why? All conferences are not created equal. the past few years it would have been criminal to put a PAC 12 champion in over a second SEC team with one loss. I am all about having the best teams playing not some pseudo pretender. That's how we get all the blowouts.

Look at 2012. You had 5-6 teams just in the SEC that were playoff worthy. LSU, Georgia, Alabama, Texas A&M, and Florida.

Yes. The NHL playoffs are some of the most intense games in any sport.
College football was doing just fine, then along came playoffs, NIL, Transfer Portal etc and interest and viewership is waning. Just a few more changes and we can call it officially dead.

Should the MLB just have awarded the Braves the world series because they were clearly the best team over 162 games?
That is what makes college basketball the greatest post season of any sport. You have teams like Butler and San Diego St playing for National Titles
Watching LSU/Alabama/Florida/UGA etc play USC/Ohio State/Notre Dame on campus in beautiful December weather when we aren’t sweating our balls off in the south will be fantastic

Zero there is a zero percent chance LSU wins out
There is also a zero percent chance if they were to win out they would be in the playoffs. LSU has no reason to worry about rankings this year at all . Next season will be diffferrnt .

I don't think we would either, and honestly, I don't have a problem with it as losing two games shouldn't get a team in unless its a bizzaro world 2007 scenario.
Last year I thought that Bama was one of the 4 best teams in the country, even with the two losses. That doesn't mean they deserved to go to the CFP under this format though. This year, if LSU somehow were to run the table, it would obviously mean our defense has somehow learned to play football, and we would likely be one of the 4 best teams in the country at that point. Again, it didn't matter last year, and it likely wont this year. The system is what it is, and if you want to be in the CFP, don't lose to 2023 Ole Miss, or in Bama's case 2022 LSU.

Bama still thinking they are elite. There is one team in the conference that is elite and that is Georgia. They are making steady improvement and Bama is not on their level. Decimated secondary that wasn’t very good in the first place keeps LSU from being elite, despite having the best offense in the country.

You could watch a movie? I mean, you find it entertaining to see a fluke win for a team than to see good, hard fought football? To each his own, I guess. I want to see the best teams battle it out. I am not interested in seeing blowouts time after time. When you average one blowout a year in the playoffs with the top 4 teams you will see a bunch more if you expand the field.

Last year we could have been awed with a 4 loss Utah team playing in the playoffs. A 3 loss FSU or a 3 loss USC.
How about a 2 loss (in the PAC 12) Washington? Dude. You are looking at some high level, boring blowouts. If we beat TCU by 50+ what do you think OSU, Michigan or Georgia would have done to 4 loss teams? THAT'S what you are advocating for. Younge people don't learn lessons. They want change because they think it is better. (NIL, Transfer Portal) The problem is...once you get those changes and find they are not good it is almost impossible to turn back the clock.

We almost bought off of Erie and 301. You know the developments I am talking about. Great area. We finally bought after having been here for six years (retired from the Army in 2021). Now we need to sell our home in North Carolina.
