It's not. It fricking sucks, to be honest.

ETA: About a month or so back we drove through Texas on our way to New Mexico. Let me tell ya...driving through West Texas is like driving through hell itself. Literally. It was like 100,000 degrees outside and the entire place looks like a barren wasteland. Just a terrible, awful, sad place.

Where are your jobs?

Obviously you don't have majors in Accounting or Finance.

Look for a conference that occurs the same time around the game and have my employer pay for me to go present research.

Which is why we are not going.

What does Texas have to offer us? We can get a much more valuable experience for our money back in the southeast.

It's not worth the trip out there.

The only thing Texas really has going for it is that it is very large, and they have a lot of oil. They have a whole lot of cattle, too. So they're rich. All those cattle dudes back in the day pretty much had to set up shop in Texas because there are vast tracts of open land and if you go any farther west it really IS a barren wasteland.

But Texas itself sucks. And their culture is just bizarre. I mean, those people really think they're hot shite down there. Like Texas is really somethin', ya know? I can't stand the place. I don't like anything about it. In fact, their entire culture represents most of what is wrong with our world.

Then stay home. Don't visit Texas. Suit yourself. No sweat off our backs.

My wife didn't cheat with a Texan. She doesn't like Texas either. On principle.

Have been to college station. Not much to talk about. But you can prob say that about most towns in sec. Strong college town ok bar scene. Would be willing to visit mizzou but seems unlikely.

Well, at Auburn, they even sport tails on their vans:

Isn't there a pic somewhere online of one of those vans after someone had set fire to it? That was a great pic.

Texas has a lot going for it. College Station...not as much.

It's fine, not bad. Boring, no charm, that's how I'd describe it. Still, nice enough, some things to do. It's worth doing once.

Why did you post this?
What type of feedback were you hoping to receive?

Every major athletic conference is comprised of schools that require some travel effort.
For whatever reason, folks from AL and MS go nuts at the thought of having to utilize an airport.
It's the same argument made whenever talk of moving/rotating the SEC baseball tournament arises.

You're the minority.

Unfortunately for the rest of the SEC the Georgia posters are a pretty good representation of the Georgia fan base.
