Hypothetical B1G/SEC annual football challenge

As the powers of CFB consolidate into the B1G and SEC, and the sport grows ever more semi-professional, imagine if the two conferences agreed to permanent regular season rivarly games. No, I'm not saying this would ever happen- it's just fun to think about.
CFP hatred is made permanent:
Alabama vs. Michigan
Georgia vs. Ohio State
A classic rivarly is restored:
Oklahoma vs. Nebraska
Old foes meet again:
Texas vs. USC
Missouri vs. Illinois
Basketball hate is converted to football hate:
Kentucky vs. Indiana
That takes care of 6. The rest are arbitrary, but I think this slate would be interesting:
Tennessee vs. Penn State
LSU vs. Oregon
Florida vs. Washington
Auburn vs. Wisconsin
Ole Miss vs. Iowa
Miss. State vs. Michigan State
Texas A&M vs. UCLA
Arkansas vs. Minnesota
South Carolina vs. Maryland
Vanderbilt vs. Northwestern (2 B1G teams would get left out)

Florida may never recover..
FSU
Miami

We’re about to get rid of all bullshite G5/FCS games anyways I think.

I encourage an annual Texas vs. USC game.

That is a gaunlet, especially with how good Washington is right now. But the Huskies won't stay up forever.

IMO, the problem with college football is if you lose one or two games you’re most likely to be left out of any national championship discussion. The playoffs will ease that a bit.
But what the fans want and what the coaches want are probably two different things. The fans want entertainment, the coaches want some warmup games to see where they are or later in the season cupcakes for rest down the stretch.
I think adding tough regular season games added to the already tough schedule plus the grind of playoffs may be a deterrent to something like this happening.
But there’s a good chance these matchups could happen in a playoff anyway.
Basketball is different, but we already have the big12 challenge and that conference has been as good or better than the big2000, or however many teams they have.

We are already scheduled to play Minnesota (H-H) in a couple of years so you can go ahead check that off for State.

I was checking future SEC schedules, and I see that Ole Miss and Southern Cal play a home and home in 2025 and 2026.

We are going to see several BIG/ SEC matchups with the 12 team playoff, should be awesome to watch. I'm thinking at least 7 to 8 Big/ SEC teams in the playoff every year...

So all the good teams will play the other good teams, and all the crappy teams will play the other crappy teams.
No thanks.

Screw the Big 10, 14 or whatever they're called.

This used to be an annual thing, and should be again.

I think it'd reset every couple of years based on conference rank and do a home and home. I mean this Rebel likes corn as much as anybody but gotta mix it up a little.

We had the Illinois game annually but the Illini ran away because they were tired of losing that game.
Turns out though that missing the exposure in St Louis hurt them more than they thought, so thankfully the game has been rescheduled 8 times in the next 10 years (now it's a home and home). If kU doesn't want to schedule a permanent rivalry week game going forward I would be ok with the Illinois game filling that spot because beating Arky has gotten kinda boring Illinois would probably be a better game.

I would suggest swapping Tennessee and Ole Miss. Tennessee has played Iowa twice as many times as any other Big 10 opponent. Penn State is one of only two Big 10 teams with a losing record to Ole Miss. So...
Tennessee vs Iowa
Ole Miss vs Penn State
