Some things are just beyond sports. Hope Auburn football helps him heal and they go on to have a wonderful season and he get coach of the year.

I wonder if they found it through the AUtlive health/bloodwork drive a few weeks ago? The timing is about right, and I think a lot athletics staff took part.

I'm glad they caught it early, and hope the treatment is successful with with as minimal longterm impacts as possible.

They were using volunteers from UAB to perform PSA tests so it's possible. Pearl started AUTLIVE at Tennessee and continued it at Auburn. It's one of the best sports related foundations out there.

My FIL has prostate cancer and it was diagnosed at age 65. He refused treatment and is 92 now. It kills some people and remains stagnate in others.

PSA levels can be extremely misleading on their own; you can have a PSA of 3 and not considered to be high but still have prostate cancer just like you can have a PSA of 8 with a prostate infection and not have cancer.

Oh frick off, you’re laughing your arse off when you heard this. Dude plays the southern Christian man card and then sleeps around behind his wife’s back.

Stop fishing for upvotes, Hugh isn’t gonna suck your dick.

I’m impressed by the general positivity and maturity of responses, also prayers to his, yours and anyone else dancing with that devil.

Me too. There are a couple of dickheads, but only a couple.

It does sound like they caught it early and it is treatable. It can, however, come back and the more aggressive variety can take you in a matter of months. He's relatively young and healthy and I wish him the best. The treatments are going to slow him down, but he needs to focus on getting better. Football is just a game.
