State returns 18 starters from a 9-4 team and we get A&M and Auburn at home. We will not finish behind both of them. I see it going like this:
Alabama
State
Auburn
LSU
A&M
Arkansas
Ole Miss

The starters you had were not very good. Doesn't matter that they return

What’s up with the A&M love? Their defense is terrible and they lost every decent WR on their roster.

Kind of hard to argue with your list but at this point it’s hard to attempt one. I feel like OM will do good to get to 6-7 wins. We have the QB and receiving crew, but unproven on RB. Plus don’t know about D.
You have to keep Alabama at top for now. Have to see how Tua’s finger is. Plus playing a full season. I don’t see much of a drop off.
Auburn is the one who could surprise I believe with the QB. Have to see how the run game goes. With their offense they usually have someone to step up and run.

The rest are toss ups that will need to be proven.
Can Jimbo step up year one? I don’t think he can fall back much more. Can Moorehead get the best out of all the guys he has coming back plus will Nick be the old Nick coming back? Or will he try to pass more to save himself for next level? They have the defense.
I believe we will see a more motivated Arkansas team. Whether it translates to anything first year has to be seen.
Then LSU still searching for the starting QB and the RB of the future. Defense will have to help them early I believe.
So not knocking anyone, just a lot to be proven from most teams. Can’t really have a list yet.

This is how it looks to me right now:

1) Bama
.
.
.
.
2) Auburn
.
.
3) The Rest - every team has the potential be decent or fall on their face.

-LSU has good talent, but how will the offense perform? -

-State returns a ton, but what direction will the offense go? The personnel currently on the roster is set up for more a spread/power run scheme. Will Moorhead stay with that plan or force square pegs into round holes? That decision could sway them from 8 wins to 10/11 wins. Defense has the potential to be very nasty.

-Arkansas has a new staff, so nobody can be sure of what product they will put on the field.

-A&M has an improved coaching staff over the last few years, but will that result in wins right away or will it take a year or two to settle in?

-OM has the passing/receiving threats, but what about the rest? Will the new LB coach improve the defense to the point where they are actually using 11 guys on defense in stead of just 9 since the LBs were absent the last 2 years.

LSU's defense and offensive line play will be good enough to beat the bottom dwellers.

1. Alabama
2. Auburn
3. Mississippi State
4. LSU
5. Texas A&M
6. Ole Miss
7. Arkansas

1. State- Best DL in the SEC and a very good OL with 4 starters returning. Offense improves under Moorhead and becomes less predictable.

2. Bama- obvious reasons

3. Auburn- very good team but has to replace some OL. Biggest problem? Road games are State, Georgia, and Bama

4. A&M- best of the rest

5. Ole Miss- offense outscores Arkansas and LSU

6. LSU- No QB and takes a step back at RB

7. Arkansas- coach needs time to upgrade the talent to compete in the West

IMO it is some order of Bama, Auburn and Miss St.

If Auburn had a good offensive line, I'd say we would be right there with Bama for the top spot in the SEC. But the OL is a huge question mark right now. I'd say we're 2 or 3 in the West right now.
