It's rare SEC coaches get to take over this type of talent. Malzahn was the last in 2013

I really feel the only close game we'll have this year will be Alabama. Possibly Auburn stays within a couple touchdowns.

No the dumb part is when fans expect the players to automatically get much better. Most players don’t. I’m just saying the number of returning starters stat is thrown out every year but usually doesn’t mean a whole a lot for EVERY single team. For some teams it might, but it doesn’t mean every team is 100% going to get better.

I watched State play 4 teams that for sure had better talent than them.

LSU...beat by 30 props
UGA...lost by 30 in Frohm's 2nd game
AU...lost by 40 with Kerryon Johnson injured
Bama...hung tough by lost at home.

Without a doubt LSU will be a better team regardless of record. AU, UGA, Bama will all be about the same or err to slightly not as good. I don't see State making that big of a jump.

You honestly have this mentality as a State fan? They don't have to get better? State was rode hard and put up wet last year by Auburn and Georgia with players that "don't have to get better".

State beat the crap out of LSU and Auburn lost to them. State was a young team last year that got rolled in 2 big road games because they were too young for the moment. Thats not the case in 2018.

Auburn has won the West in 2013 and 2017- both odd seasons where they have the big games at home and they also had a veteran OL. Auburn is an 8-4, 9-3 team in even years because of the schedule.

But maybe.

If their qb goes down all bets are off.

They can laugh all they want, MSU will have every bit as good of a d-line as Auburn this year. Probably deeper too.

It wasn't that we were young. Auburn caught us at a wonderful time. We got our asses kicked at Athens, then had to go on the road at Auburn where we scored a perfectly legal touchdown early in the game that didn't even count, because some stupid ref conveniently blows the play dead when he sees we're about to score. That changed the tone of the game right there. Not saying we win, but saying the game is different from that point.

1 and 2 are easy, 3-5 are a wash, 6 and 7 are definitely the worst two.
