We have 2 1st round picks on it that were both 1st team All-SEC last year. Sweat is the SEC sack leader and Simmons is the best DT in the SEC. Our front 4 will be drafted and crazy depth. Shoop said this Spring our #3 DE's would start for Tennessee

I think this year in particular is impossible to predict.

You have two teams that you can have some sort of confidence in predicting what you will get. Auburn and Alabama.

Everyone else has changed their entire coaching staff this year or last year.

LSU - Honestly who the frick knows what O will do. It seems he is in over his head and will screw stuff up, but LSU has talent and players like playing for him. They could get hot and play up to their potential.

MSU, AtM, Arky - New coaching staff. Usually means growing pains. Not exactly the same thing since Gus was coming back to a lot of players he already knew, but sometimes a first year coach can improve a team immediately. Most of the time its year two before improvement shows up if it is going to show up at all.

Ole Miss - They may be somewhat predictable. I think they have a low ceiling of about 7 wins this year.

LSU is a wildcard. The defense should be stout and has a lot of elite talent. That alone should keep us in a lot of games. No marquee RB this year to lean on though and obvious question marks at QB. I can see LSU finishing as high as 3 or low as 5 in the division.

Normally when we say the best in the conference some years we are wrong or thinking too highly. That is not the case with the D-line this year.

We are the only team in the history of the SEC to return TWO first team All-SEC defensive lineman.

As mentioned one if Jeffrey Simmons, arguably the best DT in the league and Montez Sweat who led the SEC in sacks. (Against SEC teams mostly too, he had zero sacks in our first four against against shitty competition and turned it one for SEC play.

MSU returned every player from a pretty freaking good DL last year and added edge depth with Chauncey Rivers coming off a redshrit.

And you still have at best the 3rd best DL in the west next year.

I implore you to look up the last time LSU finished worse than 4th in the West.

Spoiler alert it wasn’t this century. However, each year all the experts on the SEC rant come out and give their bold predictions of LSU in last place, or in the bottom tier of the west and then they disappear at the end season.

1. State- Best DL in the SEC and a very good OL with 4 starters returning. Offense improves under Moorhead and becomes less predictable.

Derrick Brown, Nick Coe, Big Cat Bryant, Marlon Davidson, Andrew Williams, Dontavious Russell, and T.D. Moultry just got a big laugh out of this

I'm sorry, are two of those guys returning first team all SEC? Because two of ours are. Never, in the history of the SEC, has a defense returned TWO All-SEC DLs.

All you do is laugh at the claim. You can’t even support a counter argument. We easily have the best starting D-line in the conference. Depth is still pretty good, but might be slightly behind a team or two. Oh and 37-7.
