Why play football at all if you're that worried about injuries? Serious question. Devonte wasn't a sure fire first round pick or even second round last year. Now he is a top 15 pick, and not just because waddle is hurt. Having a hurt teammate didn't elevate his play. If you're a first round talent I get it, but if you're not leaving early seems like a bad investment. Average nfl career is three years so you really need to make the most out of that first contract.

The best 2 players in college football are Devonta Smith and Trevor Lawrence. It should be between those 2. My vote would go to Devonta but I could see it either way.

I have a better chance of banging a supermodel tonight than Lawrence has to win the Heisman next week.
Neither will be happening

I agree,I'm just reiterating what I heard

Meh, whatever. We know who the best player in college football is.

The Heisman is the most over hyped award in football. It still doesn't even go to the best player. It goes to the best rb or QB on a top 10 team.
Except this year and I think that locks Smitty in. The voters hear the same thing.
The voters also have Bama fatigue (like everyone else) and were looking for reasons to not give it to Mac (Trask, Trevor).
But I think they'll get behind Smitty. And good for him. He deserves it.
I do think we suffer worse if Mac went down than if Smitty went down....but that's just the nature of the position. Smitty's been excellent from year 1 to year 4.

Besides the unwarranted media love for Lawrence, he hasn't been the best quarterback or player in any year that he has played. He's a good player, and physically gifted, but in no way has he played "elite" in most of his games. It's easy to look like a stud, when you play in a bullshite conference.

I have never cared about the Heisman, and somehow care even less now, because I know it is decided by the same (in general) group of idiots who declared Sarah Fuller is a hero and an SEC player of the week.

quote:I actually expect that to happen. Like a political election, if a team splits the votes, it's damn near impossible to win.
When trevor Laurence wins the Heisman based on his career instead of the best player this year ,who's smith or jones.
I really hope that doesnt happen, seriously.
It would piss me off if I was a bama fan, hell,it may piss me off as an lsu fan.not counting my chickens before they hatch on that though .lol
It really could happen and I wouldnt be shocked.
PS- I just wish they could have taken 5 so that Harris could join them in NYC!

I don't give a shite about the heisman really. There have been too many years when the best player in football was not a QB or rb and they didn't get it. Award should be open for any player to win it. A kicker should be able to win it if he's awesome enough. The position awards are more meaningful I think

Do AP all-American team voters and Heisman media voters overlap significantly? Because the AP just made Lawrence third team behind Jones and Trask so may be an indication of what the Heisman media voters are thinking.
