Most exciting player we have had since David Palmer IMO.. definitely a blow and irreplaceable

We couldn't cover him last year at all. Waddle is like Tyrone Prothro or Freddie Milons. Devonta Smith is more of a battler and catches the ball in traffic but Waddle just flat gets open and he can fly.

He had good top end speed and a threat for the deep pass, but not irreplaceable.
There's about 3 4-star WRs behind him that run really fast too that other players have pointed out.

It's not like his route running was on the level Jeudy or Amari Cooper.

Anytime someone goes down Bama fans usually turn that guy into "a once in a generation player."

He was a deep threat because of his speed, but there are 4 stars behind him that can do that too. Waddle was there due to his seniority.

Waddle was there due to his senority? This is over the top even for you.

He's not a generational player. He is, however, one of the 2-3 best WRs in college football, and the best slot reciever in college football. To act like we have a stable of guys behind him who can do all the stuff he does is laughable.

Maybe I just missed the sarcasm.

Incredible punt/kickoff return threat too, like Javier Arenas

The bigger problem is lack of depth: there’s no Cooper, Ridley, Ruggs or Juedy waiting in the wing

Just had to see a great athlete catch a bad break like that. He was loads of fun to watch. Wish him a speedy recovery and healthy future.

It won’t hurt them against 99% of teams but definitely going to decrease their chances against Clemson, Ohio state or even a rematch with Georgia or showdown with Florida.

IF we can get by Florida it could really help us. We were missing a starting CB in DJ Daniels, and with Waddle missing that would make a +2 add. (No, I am not saying Daniels was the difference. That would be silly) It would help. Would it be enough? Who knows. I suspect we try to run the ball more to keep their offense off the field.

He caused his own problem. There was no lane to run the ball back. As valuable as he was he should never tried to run one back.

Elite players like him always feel like they can make a play out of nothing. IF there is a weakness that is it. And, quite often they are right. They do make impossible plays. Every once in awhile it backfires on them and they get hurt. Hopefully it won't be anything long term and he can still have a great career in the NFL.

Only in the playoffs. Sucks to see that happen he's been so much fun to watch on Saturdays.

This. Don’t let Bama fans fool you, there are two or three more Waddle’s sitting on the bench

I think the concern at this point should be for his health, not castigating blame. He's been a good image for Alabama as well as a good player.

Slade Bolden will step in and do just fine. But, no one on that team can "replace" Waddle.

I think it is akin to Meyer without Percy Harvin. It takes an entire dynamic out of the offensive explosiveness and play calling, irreplaceable.

Bama still has extraordinary talent and will still be a handful for any team, but it hurts tremendously.

More over, he is a tremendous kid that you hate to see it happen to. Hopefully, he'll have a speedy and complete recovery

I think when Florida lost Percy Harvin or say the KC Chiefs losing Tyreek Hill would be a good comp. He was a game changer
