Fair enough.

I just don't see how one could call anything a failure in Year One unless Alabama goes 4-8 or worse.

Yeah. In a reply I stated that was too strong a word.

Yep...you nailed it bro, that's a portrait of a typical Tide fan after losing a game.

Not sure why you would call DeBoer an experiment. His resume was as good as anyone's who was interested in the job.

No doubt. He's a new coach, on a new team, in a new conference with a different culture and vastly different expectations. That's why.

Tide fans are unrealistic, spoiled, whiners. So, if they drop the game to Wisconsin, they'll be all over the talk shows saying he's a failure.

It’s his first year. I’ve always said never judge a coach on his first year good or bad (see sabans first year and Larry Coker’s first year)

There’s a lot of variables in the first year. New terminology, schemes, methods of communication, players that don’t fit your system. Hell, it took Kirby a little while to get UGA going.
After about 3 years and say Bama goes 9-3, 10-2, 9-3 then you can say it failed.

You were just bashing BK the other day for not winning a conference championship or having a playoff appearance yet.

I know it’s tough following a legend but have you seen the shape he leaves programs in? Very pristine. Mich st and lsu went on their best runs since the 60s. Saban is an excellent program builder. If deboer can coach(I think he can) bama won’t fall off for at least three years. Even bad coaches(Larry Coker) need three years to wreck a healthy program

We talking Bama admin who just made a huge investment in DeBoer or the one toothed, trailer dwelling, bud light swilling fanbase that may have 2-3 functioning brain cells?

Five losses. If he goes 8-4, they call it an SEC learning curve. Three or less losses, and it's pretty good for year one.

Go back and read the Bama boards after the USF game which followed the Texas loss. The facts will speak as to what is true and what is a lie.

What if Bama goes 8-4? What if LSU, Ole Miss, Georgia, Tennessee, etc. go 8-4?

Sorry all, but nowadays it's whomever can 'buy' the best team. It's semi-pro ball now.

In that case, it should be easy for you to provide some screenshots of the multitude of Bama fans calling for Saban's resignation.

Well, Kirby only won 8 games his first season.

I think we can do the same for DeBoer - cut him some slack even if he only wins 8 and finishes unranked.
