There are 293,000 registered accounts here. It would not surprise me if 30,000; 10% of them; are alters. It may be more, many more. And many, probably at least 1/4, of the most active accounts here are alters.
Management has to pump up the numbers and site traffic for advertising dollars.
When they are getting financially rewarded for alters, why wouldn’t they create as many as possible?

I think there are no more than a baker's dozen of actual regular posters here. The rest are people talking to themselves or confused passers by from the other boards.
