The tenor of the rant last night indicates that won't happen. Those imbeciles are on the verge of assassinating Alexander and Alleva over suspending pure, sweet, innocent Will Wade.

I give them a year or so before they're all bashing him and calling him names because he ruined the program, etc.
No matter what happens, this, in the eyes of the fans, falls back on Joe Alleva.
Worst case scenario: NCAA investigates, LSU goes on probation, Wade served with a hiring ban... Alleva ran the background check and vetted the guy who took less than two full seasons to destroy the program.
Opposite scenario: nothing comes of this, media moves on to the next big story... Alleva nuked the program on the eve of winning the conference championship, and ran off the best coach on payroll, due to media whining.
Anything in between: still on Alleva's watch.

It’s called innocent until proven guilty. He’s not on trial and not being investigated. Being a witness doesn’t mean you’re being investigated.

This is the crux of it all. Yeah, we have several athletic programs in the top 25, but this fella is actually doing a disservice to the university through the athletic department. I've given him a pass for many years and understand his dilemma now, but he has a history of fricking things up at both LSU and DUKE (look up Duke Lacrosse fiasco).
I'd like to see Bob Broadhead as AD again - or even Joe Dean. Alleva's contribution to LSU athletics has been one thing - controversy and unhappiness.

It sucks but this year has been more fun than I've had with LSU basketball since the final four run in '06. Whatever happens is gonna happen anyways so I just wish we wouldnt have suspended Wade or Smart. If we get nabbed for cheating everything is getting vacated anyways. May as well go all out at this point.
