It's like when y'all had Pinkel. He wasn't gonna go anywhere and y'all trusted him to do his job and wanted him. It's a good, healthy fan/coach relationship, and that's something we havent had in a minute.
Arkansas has had a fractured fanbase for the last couple decades. Now it feels united AF behind Sam.

I normally take coaches comments about other jobs they may or may not be tied to as smoke and bull shite. Most are looking at the ladder up, but same is a real hog and as others have said, you can’t understand unless you are one. We aren’t blue chip, we aren’t an elite top tier type destination. We can’t compete with the tradition of Bama or be the ultimate college town like Athens… but I believe the kids who play here truly want to be hogs for whatever their reason is. It’s a passion from deep within and it’s finally coming back to the surface. We are that team of 3-4 stars that play with more grit and fight than the 5 star showboats that fill some other rosters. We’ll always be the underdog that overachieves and I like it. We may not win nattys but we can frick your chances of getting one too. I’m proud of what has been accomplished the last 2 years, we are finally fricking hogs again.

Why is Arkansas competitive again?
Because the man has invested his sum total of all he is or ever will be into the school and program most loved by his heart
When Arkansas took a chance on a position coach and trusted him with keys to the company. He must of really sold them on his passion, determination and resolve to revive a once proud program.
This is why he wouldn't leave U of AR for anyone else. He's committed to them and vice-versa.
Who doesn't love the guy?
YESSSSSIIIIRRRRRRR!

Just like Smart is an UGA man, Pittman is a Hog. Both coaches have their dream job, neither are going anywhere.
Who was the first P5 program to offer Pittman a job? If OU comes knocking on his door, you don't think he answers it?

Bert skipped a recruiting visit in Fayetteville to go to Vegas. He was suppose to meet Sam and the recruit. I don't know if this caused Sam to leave but Bert tried to put the blame on him for leaving.
Sam left after the 2015 season and Arkansas regressed and collapsed at the end of the 2016 season. Bert was fired the next year.

Pittman already had a retirement home in Hot Springs, and just recently sold it and bought a bigger one there.
He's not going anywhere except to the lake, most likely.

Not only that, but a bunch of his former players got together to lobby UA for him to get the job

No he won’t. Odom will be gone after this year or next year for a G5 job.

I do not think he will leave. One, he really likes the job and the area. Two, he's no spring chicken.
The Pittboss is 59 and he doesn't strike me as the type to keep coaching until they wheel him into the stadium on life support sort of guy.
He likes being noticed and people loving him, as he said "who doesn't", and he has that in spades at Arkansas. He can retire here, live in Hot Springs, and come up to visit the program and campus easily. Don't forget, despite all the acrimony involved in his falling out with Frank Broyles, Nolan Richardson kept his home in the area and is, last I heard, happily retired there. Its a nice place to retire.
He is a fairly eloquent and funny guy, I could see him doing the whole SEC network thing for giggles.

Seems any time a coach begins to have success at a school that is not named Alabama, speculation starts as to where he will end up next.
He's not going anywhere.
Although repeatedly mentioned, I don't think the lake house makes it a certainty. People buy and sell those all the time. I've done it myself. Hell, even Pitt has done so; but granted in the same state.
No the reason he won't leave is if he continues to have success he will be hailed as a hero in Arkansas for reviving a moribund program. Again, it's early but if the trajectory continues where is he likely to go? He isn't going to go to another broken program to revive it he'll have done that already. His other option would be to go to a traditionally stronger program where he can at best maintain or slightly improve or worse fail.
He's making a decent amount of money where he is. Factor in his age and I think Arky can count on him as long as they like.
