How is Carter responsible for what someone else does with their vehicle?

It's not like he went up to their window with a gun and made them race

He’s being charged for what he did with his vehicle…

"street racing" is illegal and he was involved. Due to severity of the incident they investigated it enough to determine he participated in it. They aren't booking him with murder are they?
What don't you understand??

Was he not racing? You can have a warrant out for something as minor as a speeding ticket if not paid or you miss your court date

He’s not, ergo he’s been charged with two misdemeanors.
It’s a slow time of the year.

He was probably just chasing down his buddy to return his firearm

Street racing is illegal and highly dangerous.
In the end, he is a young person who made a horribly tragic mistake that he did not intend to turn out the way that it did. He will have a high price to pay, but we aren't putting him in the electric chair for it.

Thus far he is being charged for actions in his car, both relatively minor misdemeanors given what happened WHILE his alleged offenses were taking place. Getting charged with racing or in a contest of speed (I think it used to be called that) is not uncommon and not overly serious as far as crimes go. The issue here is how he handled it, how he handles it going forward and how UGA handles it. It is bad look for certain....anyone saying otherwise is just wrong.

Delivering murder weapons however makes the world a happy place, with flowering meadows and rainbow skies, and rivers made of chocolate, where the children dance and laugh and play with gumdrop smiles.

That sounds a lot like what they did with Darius Miles and his gun. Imagine that.

These are dangerous. Wonka should’ve been charged for Augustus Gloop.

He is being charged for racing, which is an offense whether or not the other person gets hurt. But, how could he be that stupid? The dude is in line to be the first pick in the draft!

That's a million dollar question, and we see players in similar positions do stupid shite that jeopardize their futures far too often

Carter would have been golden if he'd only delivered a gun.

Not sure he is responsible, no more than Miller is responsible for what Miles did with his gun… but dang! Did he really drive away and leave his friends after they wrecked?
That’s cold

If you start questioning why people here don't grasp simple legal points, you are going to be here a long time. I'd say 90% of comments here related to criminal law is based on willful ignorance and/or fantasy.
