Your entire thread is based on a falsehood, but what is this?

Auburn was going to fire Chizik after his 2nd season?

Past 15 years say otherwise. Hell, last year REALLY says otherwise.

You Auburn fans do realize that this alternate history really screws UGA too, right? This isn't an Auburn thread

Stole the laptop, bought the stolen laptop and tried to conceal evidence by throwing it out a window. Whatever.

I would have liked to have been nice to y'all and say you just didn't hire the guy that had a losing record at Iowa State but I don't think Cam had any bearing on Jay Jacobs being an idiot then or now.

This actually is a pretty good "what if," especially since the ripple effect touched so many different bigtime programs including Florida, Texas, Ohio State and Auburn.

I still say Meyer would've left the SEC, whether he ended up winning with Cam or not. The road through the SEC was and continues to be so tough, while the Big Ten continues to be a cake walk. Cam would've carried him through the 2010 season and possibly 2011, and Urban would've done the same exact heart problem / exhaustion routine after he left for the NFL.

Forget Notre Dame, Ohio State was always his dream job, and he was always going to end up there after Tressel was let go, whether he had a year off or not. They would've lured him from Florida in the end anyway.

Bama returns to the Dome again in 2010 to play UF (again)

nope

Would have been Arkansas

Without Auburn
Bama had 2 loses
Arkansas and LSU had 1 and Arkansas beat LSU head to head.

Cam wasn't dismissed from FL because of the laptop, regardless of what happened. He left for Blinn partly because he'd be sitting another year behind Tebow.

Chizik didn't get fired after an 8-5 season in his 3rd year. Without the pressure of an undefeated season and a National Championship, he might've gotten more time.

And, if you are to believe the stories behind the scene, maybe his ego wouldn't have gotten the best of him and he might've turned out to be a consistent coach at the very least.

Doesn't matter, football starts in a week.

Either way, he's not starting in the sec until 2010 so that reasoning makes no sense

Good stuff enough.

I like the Muschamp takes over at texas thing.

I doubt that Oregon would've beaten Bama in 2014.

Actually nope. The trees at Auburn were already dieing and were on very limited time.

Which makes what he did that much dumber.

This link is from way back in 2007.

Too Late for Toomer's Trees by Auburn Alumni Association

But they were still making efforts to keep them.

The laptop did not cause cam to leave, this has been stated by Meyer, cam and family. Meyer tried to get him to stay. Cam developed after florida, also stated by Meyer. Your premise has no merit.

Got bored at work, started thinking about some past recruiting blunders, remembered offering Cam as a TE, remembered he went to UF, thought about what would happen if he'd never left and voila. The OP was born of a 5 minute brain fart.
