Their SEC opponents combined conference record was 20-36 in the 2023 season. 40% of the wins come from Georgia
I dont believe any other team plays the bottom 4 teams in the conference.

It's so everyone can see just how bad Texas truly is.

No because there's probably 3 SEC teams that would make it before OU in that scenario.

yeah, they were definitely gifted a soft schedule...but why?
why not make UT play LSU at LSU?

We told Sankey to jump, he asked how high.

Doubtful, unless there aren't any 2-loss teams from P4 conference available.
You might be at the top of the 3-loss selections but it's unlikely you'd hop a Clemson or FSU or Oklahoma state with 2 losses.

The SEC apparently totaled wins for the years since A&M and Missouri joined and Texas was down the list.
Also the reason that State got a tougher schedule than we need because State was 6th in wins in the SEC from 2012-2022.
We really don't need a tough schedule in 2024 (and Texas and OM easy schedules), but they might have picked the schedules before the 2023 season was played.

this is the biggest blunder. The LSU vs Texas and OU vs Georgia matchups got thrown to the side for whatever reason and the SEC had the opportunity to make it right. So they didn't...

My theory is this, Texas is playing the 3 teams that hate us the most (okie, arkie, aggie) away from Austin. Giving us UGA in Austin was the trade-off.
For the last 2 years, all I have been hearing is that Texas can't play an SEC schedule. Now we are playing an SEC schedule and everyone is talking about it being easy. Will you guys make up your mind...?!?

Texas owes LSU a home game in Tiger Stadium. The scheduled game was cancelled during the Covid season when it was only conference games. SEC should have considered that.

That's what I'm saying. The UGA vs OU match was canceled by the SEC since Oklahoma was joining so the first opportunity they had they didn't schedule it.
Oh and Georgia has never played at Texas A&M so they schedule Georgia in Austin first year. Whoever signed off on this has got to be a troll.

It is kind of amazing.
That weak assed schedule reminds me of the 2011 season when the Big XII did a schedule adjustment. That year every team in the league had to make a return trip to an away game that they played away in 2010. Each team also got two straight home games with another Big XII team.
Every team but Texas that is. They got the two straight home games (Oklahoma State had to go to Austin in both '10 and '11)... but Texas did not have to play the two consecutive road games at any other venue.
I don't think there is any coincidence that the four teams from the Big XII bailed right around the time that that happened.

Same reason for everything in CFB, $. SEC started with our historic matchups to maximize ratings and rest worked into place from there. That said, playing Georgia, at Michigan (OOC I know but may have been a factor in the SEC’s scheduling), OU & at Ags isn’t an entirely Charmin soft either.

we've been told for years we'd be a .500 team in the sec because the sec is so superior...now evidently the sec sucks.

Just luck of the draw because everyone is an equal member in the SEC.
