I’ve read two articles this morning with so-called national college football experts picking the order of finish of the SEC and both have TN picked to finish higher than KY. This despite Kentucky’s superior recruiting over the past 2-3 years, and a regular stream of stories about transfers, dismissals from the team, etc. coming out of Knoxville. People act like TN is a major power, or something, but the truth is they are a bottom tier SEC team for a generation now.

I already know this one. Tennessee beats Kentucky and gets sucked off by A&M.

They aren't.

They've also beaten Kentucky something like 27 of the last 29. And they were better than you last year. And they beat you in your home stadium. And they return roughly the same production Kentucky does. And you play them at Neyland, where you haven't won since the Reagan administration.

So, not sure what you are arguing.

Likely because Tennessee has owned Kentucky for 4+ decades & this will be their best team going into year 3 under this staff.

Recruiting:

2021 as it stands
UT: 4th
UK: 43rd

2020:
UT: 10th
UK: 25th

2019:
UT: 13th
UK: 34th

The truth is they beat you year in and year out. That's why they got picked over UK. Must be tough for UK fans to routinely lose to Tenner in both football and basketball these days

Probably because Terry Wilson sucks along with the rest of your football team. Kentucky even has a losing record vs Tennessee in basketball the last 5 years, LOL.

TN is a traditional power. I may not like some of their fans, but I acknowledge their potential to become a juggernaut again. KY needs to win the East first before popping off.

A better question is why would they pick us? We have had the better team several times and found a way to lose including the last two years. We have a huge mental block when we see orange and white or orange and blue. Until we prove otherwise why would they pick us?

Our recruiting has not been rated higher than UT's. They have under performed their recruiting rankings and we have outperformed ours or it wouldn't even be close on the field or in the rankings.

I like your optimism and hope we get a chance to see if the Cats can win in Knoxville.

Your leaving out that Stoops was in year 6 and year 7 in his losses to Pruitt and had time to recruit his guys and build the program into his vision. Those are his players & his system. This will be Pruitt's first year where he's had 2 full recruiting classes that are his players on the field. He's only going to get better.
