On a scale from 1 to Cam Newton it would be a 0.

Not taking away from his Heisman season, but Henry's roll was more for punishing opponents after victory was secure. By the time he starts making his big runs in a game, most teams defenses were so tired because the Bama defense had shut down their offenses, that Henry's punishing style became that much more effective.

I always thought Ingram was an all around better back as well as Yeldon for you guys....I hated Yeldon, because he was so effective as a receiver out of the backfield.

Ingram won by default in a down year. It wasn't "give that man a trophy!!!!", it was more "If not him, who?"

Henry won the Heisman. Straight up won it. I truly believe that LF7 was the better and more talented back, but Henry put up the numbers when he had to have them, on the biggest stage.

Both are great young men.

Jesus. Victory was usually secure because Henry had ripped through the defense already.

Henry did not bother me one bit. Dude had a great season, was a great player, and deserved it.

Ingram was a joke. In 100% of other cases, when a guy is SHUT DOWN in his last game of the regular season( like Ingram was by Auburn) ...He is not your winner.

Been an awful lot of outliers in the past few years then...aside from Manziel, there's also been RG3, Marcus Mariota, and Lamar Jackson...that's four winners in the last six years that weren't playing on the best team...

How long have you been sitting on this topic? It seems very ill-timed.

Bama shut down Pat Sullivan in the last regular season game of 1971 and he still won the Heisman...lucky for him, they awarded it to him before the game was played...

The last game of the regular season doesn't matter nearly as much as the last game before the Heisman voting...Ingram had a great game against Florida in the SECCG while Gerhart didn't play, Colt McCoy looked mediocre in the Big12CG, and Suh sealed his invitation by getting 4.5 sacks against McCoy in that same game. You can get shut down and still win the Heisman...just can't afford to do it the week before it's awarded...

This tears LSU fans up inside.

I would imagine they are more upset over losing 6 in a row and watching Bama win 3 national titles and 4 sec titles since the last time lsu won any title bothers them more than some individual award.

It ceased being the award for the best player in college football a long time ago.

I don't know if it's ever been the "best player in college football." As long as I can remember, it's been nothing but a popularity contest. It's too easy for a good player on a good team to win it, when a better player on a weaker team might not have the stats or publicity.

Many winners are indeed outstanding players and certainly deserving, but how many winners have been total busts in the NFL? Yes, I know that the NFL isn't college and the vote isn't supposed to reflect pro potential, but still, if a player isn't at least a decent pro, how was he so much "better" than others, including many of the same players, in college? Methinks voters are much too influenced by team and publicity instead of individual talent and skill.

Thank God we don't have to hear about how worthless the Heisman is from Alabama fans anymore.

This is how its done.

OP is an epic fail because of all the material that was available, it highlights something no one cares about. WTF?
