I fail to see how what Chizik did at Auburn has anything at all to do with what Sumin does at Texas A&M.

I'll try and catch you up:

-Super Heisman QBs with sick mobility
-Lots of points scored by mobile QB (see aforementioned bullet point)
-Horrific defense
-Draft of super Heisman QB
-Downward spiral of the coach due to his crutch leaving and the career ending in a dumpster fire

The only difference is that Cheezstick coached in the Big 12 and not in the Conference USA with a NFL QB so we don't know how good a coach Sumlin truly is.

In all fairness, Sumlin had a much better HC resume when he went to A&M than Coach Chiz had when he came to Auburn.

Are you equating Cam's departure with UH losing its first and second team QBs in the same game?

Never mind.

I think I catch your drift.

Sumlin is an awful coach because he's had the fortune of coaching the best player in college football history.

Just imagine that defense without a heisman quarterback and godzilla at wide receiver. That's how bad.

I'm just trying to get a rise out of you Aggy fans.

I'm enjoying a drink and watching the balance of the Manning Magic return to Eli tonight by virtue of Peyton's performance.

Hotty Toddy and Gig 'em (against LSU at least)

Look aTm guys, if you really don't think their will be some drop off in production losing JFF and Evans I don't know what to say. It happens and as good as you think Hill or Allen are, they will not be Johnny. This isn't to say you won't have a competent to good offense, but nothing like 2012 and 2013.

Thank you for the explanation.
But you left out "Sumlin is not Chizik."
I see that you're a scientist and are therefore accustomed to laboratory settings; but I'm sure you're also aware that people rarely fit into requisite clinical silos.
Who knows what Sumlin's future holds? But as of now, there's zero reason/evidence to conclude that over the long-term he will/will not succeed at TAMU.

Sumlin isn't awful, probably, but he's definitely overrated. People credit his offense when it's pretty obvious that Manziel's improvisation is what is putting up the points. And his defense speaks for itself.

Depends on what you mean by succeed. That defense isn't winning any championships. National or otherwise.

How in the world do you know this?
Having a stud player on your team & being a great coach are not mutually exclusive.

Indeed.

We field the exact same defense next year.

And instead of the two star basketball player from Galveston, we're stuck with the 5 star All-world wideout from Sealy and his 5 star counterpart at QB who hails from Arizona.

So you hit the nail on the head. Take away JFF and Evans on this year's team, and you have the 2014 squad.

Johnny is playing more within the offense than he ever has.

I have yet to read where anyone said that.
But the title of this thread is How bad will tamu be, not How much drop-off will occur.

I agree with this as I ststed earlier I hope our defense can improve enougj to where 28 to 30 points is all we need to win because I think this offense can do that without the 2 of them but who knows we might have to punt every possession and give up 1 play 80 yard td runs every time are on d. We will see when it happens

Since I never stated or implied this, I don't know what to say to you, either.

Just by looking at the fan reaction at Kyle Field after JFF went down...It was like a real time realization look of "Oh no. We are completely fricked."

But who knows. They clearly just need a defense. Simple as that.
