Every week it's the same.... Sexy!

But why didn't we go all out on the corner screen? We could have at least gone as big as LSU.

12th Man TV was a fricking atmosphere killer. I hope these new screens don't make it worse. Hyman promised less commercials between play, we'll see. The band and yell leaders barely even existed recently.

Do you think an on-campus basketball arena would be built across Alumni Drive from the baseball stadium?

I assumed they were about the same size.

I have a feeling where they might put it on campus but it would be a terrible prospect from a long term fan view. On campus would be a monopoly for UK while putting it downtown still allows free choice of parking and dining options. Also, if you are spending 250 - 350 million you really need a venue operating more than 12 - 24 dates per year. The problem is fans keep thinking it will be bigger but the reality is if UK builds on campus it will be much smaller.

I tell folks in all sincerity if they want a fan friendly venue, it needs to stay off campus.

Yeah, Newton once proposed an on-campus arena seating only 18,000 with many luxury boxes for wealthy sponsors and corporations. It didn't fly, of course.

I think Lexington will come around soon with the funding for Rupp renovations. The next legislative session is key in getting the state involved.

The bigger issue was the HL reporting BW Fund numbers (Predecessor to K Fund) was missing a 0 in the public numbers. Say they were quoting a "donation" of 250.00 when the reality was 2,500.00. Also totally absent from those press releases was the hefty initial "donation" at the time. The third unreported fact was the corporate suites were going to be split 55% among Cincinnati companies and 45% among Louisville companies as no local companies would be able to afford the suites.

The key to any venue of that size and cost is usable dates. JerryWorld has an event pretty much every day. If they rebuilt Rupp they need to get at least 180 - 240 days use per year to make it viable. The hockey team made more money to pay off the Rupp bonds than UK ever did.

LSU
39'7" x 68'2"

A&M
36' x 54'

Its close, but A&M appears to have plenty of space to make it something like 45'x65'6".

Kyle is going to look really nice. It has been one of the least aesthetically pleasing stadiums for a long time.

Can someone tell me the number of suites each stadium will be at after everyone completes current renovations?

I think it was discussed earlier in the thread, but I can't find it now.

In the SEC, BDS has 157 suites, Tiger Stadium 136, Arkansas's RRS 133, UT's Neyland Stadium has 120 suites, and Kyle Field will get up to 114 suites in 2015. Big drop after that.

Arkansas' RRS has most club seats (around 8,000), Tiger Stadium has 6,200 club seats, Kyle Field (will have around 5,000), BDS (around 4,000), MSU (3,670) and Neyland Stadium (around 3,000). Another big drop after that.

Edit: IIRC, Mizzou will have 75 suites, MSU 72, and UK will have 70 suites. As far as the rest of the SEC, OM has 60 suites, AU 70, UGA 70, UF 80 (IIRC), and USCe 18. Vandy has no suites.

The pictures don't really capture the perspective of how the skyline is changed and how big it is. Still have to tear down and rebuild the west side and build two activation towers on the west side.

MSU has 72 suites and 3670 club tickets(750 of those in The Gridiron available to all season ticket holders and not considered permanent seating) as of this expansion...

We're still underbuilt(or underpriced) on suites though, while being tapped out about right on club seats. Our expansion is engineered for another 22 endzone suites and a 7k seat upper deck at whatever point in time it becomes necessary. Personally, I think we need to demolish the west upper deck/mid deck and start over before we start adding to the new endzone. The next stages would be distant -- if not for the continued demand for skyboxes at MSU. That could easily speed up the process. Also expect to see a lot more loge seats soon. Have about 280 of those as of right now...

I think some ADs are going to take a look at the steel construction material considering how much A&M was able to do in such a short time. You simply could not have done it with concrete because of the time it takes to set.
