but there were no train tracks from College Station to Waco in 1926
That's possibly the dumbest thing I've read here in some time. Congrats!
re: A&M, do y’all rush the field if you pull off the big upset?

Our only field rush was due to a campaign to set the student section attendance record, which involved setting up field level bleachers on the tracks against Nebraska.... It was a hell of a game, but no one would have even thought about rushing the field under normal circumstances. Just too many students already down there to avoid it lol...
I was in the stands, the rain of towels at the end was awesome.

Seriously, unranked A&M would love Clemson's schedule.
See y'all Saturday.

re: Aggies: After 6 years in the SEC what are your overall thoughts on the conference?
Posted by p_bubel on 9/7/18 at 12:03 am
Bow tie Loftin will have a statue before too long.
Best. Decision. Ever. As far as I am concerned or anyone else I've ever met that is a grad.
The national stage attention alone is worth the schedule.
I thought I would miss the Texas game every year, but now I don't give a shite if we ever play them again.

Should be an easy win for Mizzou.

Did anyone notice that this "article" started with the Big 10 starting to look for new members, Missouri showing leg (and their arse) that they wanted in the Big 10 because they wondered when Nebraska was going to blow up the Big 12 Conference because the Cornhuskers kept losing to TEXAS in the boardroom and football field?
Out of that entire article you choose this to hang your hat on?
Some losers will never change.

Reading that was fun.
Oh, and, frick Oklahoma. They're almost as bad as the Horns in all this.

re: a&m fans...do non-Cadets hang out with Cadets?

There are also quotas, not everyone that wants to join after college can.

No joke. Thanks for stating this. The numbers widely reported are not what's on the main campus.

I had a couple of friends in the corps, didn't see them all that much outside of class usually. One buddy from my small high school class wound up as a Yell Leader. That was always a fun time hanging out with him.
Additionally, and this will seem very odd to other SEC schools but the frat population during my time there (mid to late 90s) was also really, really, small. Like 5,000 people out of 40,000. It was pretty damn nice.

They would be ranked 4th in the SEC for both academic ratings listed.
All of their supplied stats are highly suspect.
It's not like they're above gaming the system.

God Bless the Bowtie.

They courted Texas, and when we asked about it those bastards patted us on the head and said "we got you covered." We called the SEC the next day.
So much this. Can you imagine being told that by another college? They had been in talks with the Pac12 regarding us and them without even bothering to let us know. The balls of that idiot. I'm glad it blew up in their faces.
The Pac12, while it has some interesting teams and great locations, suffers immensely from the time zone differences. I'm very glad we didn't wind up there.
