3500 yards and 28 touchdowns? How the frick is that gonna happen? Your quarterback is on the low end of average, you have shitty receivers that only sometimes like to catch footballs. In fact, your best receiver is a fricking jefferson. And finally, your offensive coordinator (whiteboot's bestest good friend) is among the worst offensive coordinators in the country. Average joey will hit those numbers in your wettest of dreams.

Pandy. Where is your ranking?

The Heisman is nothing but media hype. It honestly shouldn’t matter as much as it once did because it’s really just there for a 3 hour TV special in December.

Manning will pad stats on weeks 2 through 4.

Some LSU fans act like Nussmeier just arrived. This will be his 5th season at LSU. He got game time experience in every season. He has played in 31 games; 13 games last season plus18 games prior to last season. Has any other SEC QB put up game stats at the same school for 5 seasons? I can’t think of anyone else.

And 4k yards through the air.
He was better in 2024 than Burrow was in 2018, or Daniels in 2022.
Are you saying any lsu qb coming off a decent season is bound to be great because they are an lsu qb? Burrow was great under the coaching of a man yall fired the next season. Daniels was incredibly overlooked and has proven it at the next level. Could nussmeir set the world on fire next year? Sure but to assume he's going to because mah lsu is retarded.

He was atrocious against bama. So are you saying he put up bad numbers vs a bad bama team? Or were we that good team :)

Nussmeier averaged 40 pass attempts per game last season. He was bound to put up some yards. In terms of efficiency stats; TD/Int rate, Int. percentage, yards per attempts, yards per catch and rating; he was very middle of the pack in the SEC last season.
He may have a breakout year this season. But if he doesn’t and again is asked to throw the ball 40 times per game LSU will lose at least 3 games. You can’t be completely one dimensional on offense and hope to do much.

No.

Daniels wasn't overlooked. He had a very pedestrian season in 2022. His shortfall was an unwillingness to stretch the field. He worked hard the next spring and improved a lot.
Nuss had a different problem last year, and also didn't have the surrounding talent that Daniels had. The team was improved so we'll find out. He needs to take care of the ball better. If he does, I wouldn't be surprised to see 45-50 touchdown passes from him.

Weren't both of these guys RS FR when they won the Heisman? Are those stats their HS stats?

He actually did vs USC, he was all kinds of clutch in that game and the defense lost it for LSU.
I agree that Nuss has to show improvement especially against top defenses. Winning those games and making the CFP is more important than the Heisman.

Nuss led the nation in passing last year which was his first season to start games. Arch is full of talent

Besides, Nuss was making throws last year that basically no one in cfb was making (cetainly not with any consistency, looking at you klubnik) and anyone who paid attention knows that.

There are very few QBs who have 500 or more attempts in a season so the sample size will be small. The last two SEC players to have over 500 passing attempts in a season were Will Rogers and Bryce Young in 2021. Both were first year starters. In his first season as starter Will Rogers at MSU had better stats than Nuss. Rogers was better in all the categories listed below.
Will Rogers
4793 yards. 73.9% completion, 4/1 TD to Int ratio (36 TD/9 INT), 1.3% int. rate, 365 yds/game, 147 QB rating
Garrett Nussmeier
4052 yards, 64.2% completion, 2.5/1 TD to INT ratio (29 TD/12 INT), 2.3% Int rate, 311 yards/game, 143 QB rating
Bryce Young won the Heisman that season He also had better stats than Nuss did last year.
4872 yards, 66.9% completion, 7/1 TD to Int ratio (47 TD/7 INT), 1.3% Int Rate, 325 yards/game, 168 QB rating
The last guy to have over 500 attempts in a season before them? Joe Burrow in 2019. I don’t need to list his stats for you.

I went back to 2010. Those are the only SEC QBs since 2010 to have 500 or more pass attempts in a season. So the answer to your question is all of them. All the other QBs had better stats than Nuss.
