Nutt's made some conspiracy-level claim that he can't get a job because the people who came in after he was fired, namely Freeze and Bjork, started some smear campaign to kill his character. Everything bad said about Nutt, except for maybe some stuff related to Saunders, was present as early as the loss to Jacksonville State to open 2010. If Houston wants to know why he doesn't have a job, maybe he should rewatch the 2011 season and ask himself how much of this alleged misinformation was already floating around before he'd even officially been fired. And then Pete Boone's dumb arse let Nutt finish coaching the season after he'd been fired. Really easy for the guy to hold the respect and attention of a team rife with punks at that point

I think your are not seeing the big picture. Ole Miss being liable is the least of their worries. The fact that he is alleging Freeze and Bjork intentionally leaked misinformation to the press on a PR campaign related to the NCAA investigation is what Ole Miss should be worried about in this lawsuit. They'd honestly be smart to pay Nutt whatever he wants and make him sign an NDA

No one except Houston Nutt gives a shite if Ole Miss trying to put all their infractions on him is the reason he can't find a job.

I think the only thing "The Blindside" got correct in the movie story was how stupid and weak Hugh Freeze is.

The rest of that story has got to be complete utter horseshite.

Well no shite, I could have told you that when the movie came out, as could most people from Memphis

This is quite a conundrum.

I want to see Ole Miss burn for fun, but I despise Houston Nutt.

Who should I root for?

I believe that Houston Nutt believes this.

I'm sure he does too, but like I said, all of that should be of very little importance to Ole Miss. What is going to kill them is when Houston Nutt's lawyers start subpoenaing witnesses for depos. The press has no reason to lie for Ole Miss under oath. Like I said, Ole Miss needs to just pay up and have Nutt sign an NDA and dispose of this lawsuit. Nothing good can come from it. But with the way Ole Miss has handled these things the past 2-3 years, I will assume they will choose option B of hoping all of this goes away.

So you're telling me Freeze spoke on the phone to media members after a huge story broke on him?????? The only explanation is that he was slandering Houston Nutt here guys. Doesn't matter that there are no transcripts of the calls.

Houston Nutt files lawsuit against OM. by Henry Jones Jr
Meh. Prove it, Houston.

he's already proved it. He's got a long list of media people who were burned by Freeze in all of this, taking away any credibility they had. Plus the NCAA knew Freeze and Bjork were lying to all the 2016 and 2017 classes by blaming "most or all the allegations" on Nutt when in fact 85% of the shite was on Freeze. Give it up already. He doesn't have to prove this. I bet he has at least 8 media members who will testify. Even in a court of law it will be very easy to show how deceitful Freeze is based just on him lying to potential students. That won't play well in a court of law.

If this were a wacky 80s sitcom, Ole Miss and Houston Nutt would both be punished....by forcing him to be their coach for 5 years.

They'd have zany adventures, and at the end of the contract, a teary-eyed Hootie-Dale would reluctantly resign as a crowd packed into the Grove desperately chants "Hyew-ston Nutt! "Hyew-ston Nutt!"

We'd all learn many valuable lessons. Wright Thompson could provide the voice-overs, and all of the action could be shot in slow-motion for added gravitas.

Butt is why the NCAA started the investigation in the first place. They have been in Oxford for over 4 years.

No way any legitimate journalist shares off the record information and the source if they want to continue in their career. Now some writers consider themselves entertainers
rather than journalists and may but most journalists would balk.

Im pretty sure you dont want him to try and do that. First off this is mainly because Freeze was dumb to challenge people to prove they cheated. Now, IF they actually go to court, Freeze will get muddied up even more. Why work so hard to cover your arse if you didnt do anything. I dont know what Freeze said but I know every OM poster on here was saying it was all on Nutt. They had to get that narrative somewhere.

The source is Hugh Freeze himself and if they are subpoenaed and testify I doubt any of them would purgor themselves to save OM. Theres really nothing for Nutt to have to prove. Nutt has the phone records and the day the calls were placed to media members the tweets come out that they have it on good facts that all the allegations were against Nutt.

They don't have to purgor themselves. They just refuse to testify. I don't think a judge in a civil
case would go hard on them. Were they too lazy to verify the facts or did they help conspire ? Either way they are better off not confirming their source.

One of which is a former MSU QB who has openly said many times that he was lied to.

Ole Houston seems to be holding a solid set of cards.
