Hot Take : I thought Ensminger did a pretty solid job in 2016

I don't know if he is good enough to scheme against really good defenses (the Alabama play calling wasn't great, but I'm not sure what his other options were), but he played to his strengths and sprinkled in deep throws and play actions to keep most teams off balance.

I understand the melt, but I do think it could be a lot worse. However, "could do a lot worse" is not the type of hire a place like LSU wants to see made.

I'm sure it will do well, but I also am not sure it will matter. LSU fans seem to be looking for any excuse to get rid of O.

He really took advantage of Auburn's backfield talent in 2003 too, and that was before he was an AARP member.

Time will tell, if he is successful who knows what will happen. If he isn't successful LSU will be hiring a new football staff in 2 years.

He did do pretty well calling Cameron's offense 2 seasons ago, and Cameron was getting paid about 5 times what Ensminger was paid.

Either O and Alleva will look like geniuses and we have a solid O or they will look like clowns when our offense isn't any different.

Hard to pick one , but I HOPE it's the first

Ensminger did do a good job in 2016 tweaking Cameron's offense a little (outside of Alabama game). At this point, nobody knows what offense we're running with Ensminger calling all the shots. This weekend we have some big offensive recruits in town, so I bet they tell them where we're headed.

Based on reports I've heard Ensminger was one of the assistants that wasn't happy with the offense under Miles. So I'm expecting something different on offense. Will the offense be affective is the question.

This isn't Steve's fault. he is a great Tiger who loves LSU.

2016 was solid vs teams without a pulse.

10 pts vs Bama and UF

Again, this is about the HC, not Steve but "the look" seems to say ppl are upset about the OC. It's the HC in reality

Didn't LSU have like 425 yards against Florida in 2016? Bad turnovers and the 4th down stop I know, but they moved the ball up and down the field.

You are a moron as usual. Lost to both bammer and Florida. Scored zero points against bammer. Played no one else after he became offensive coordinator

Right. People that keep referencing 10 points versus Florida are leaving out a lot of context. It's dishonest.

And in the Bama game we were clearly outclassed. Etling missed throws to open receivers on top of this. I recall our oline getting manhandled in that game. I'm not going to crucify the guy for that offense getting stymied against Alabama when that happens almost every year as it is.

Pretty sure most of those big recruits already know where LSU is headed.

You played Florida at home and they weren't that great themselves. Just benefitted from the east being bad. There is s reason McElwain was basically pushed out the door

Do OC's get passes now for lots of yards but not many points?

He called the plays in the red zone that went no where as well.

As I said earlier, this isn't about Steve. The anger is about how the HC and the AD are doing business

Man, that picture having a person still stuck in the car is really off-putting.

You can’t judge an OC without taking into account the QB he had to work with.

Daboll looked like an idiot in the first half against UGA and a genius in the second.

Same coordinator, same defense, different results, only variable being QB.

The problem with LSU offensively with the brief exception of Mett has been QB play.
