OU is definitely more of the "must win."

Nobody's going to blame Tom for losing to eventual National Champion LSU at home and then falling to them on the road only a year later. At least no rational fans are.

If Tom loses to OU in 2020, that's 3 losses in a row, and a 1-4 record overall. That's going to piss some people off.

Truth be told, I'm surprised neither of the road games in Kansas are on this list at 4 or 5. I think Kansas State has a good head coach in place for the future, and I think Kansas with Les Miles is about to become a perennial 6-6 team that's always good for an upset against one of the top 3 teams in the Big 12.

Could NOT* have cared less to be there.

I fully expect LSU to win but let’s not act like anything in that article is unreasonable.

Both UT fans and players have absolutely no idea what’s awaiting them in Baton Rouge. They have never seen anything close to the environment they will be walking into. Typically those situations go very badly for the opposing teams.

Your last undefeated team needed a last gasp field goal block to beat a 7 win Vols squad

Wow this is some revisionist history isn't it?

LSU was already leading on 3rd and 17. There was only 2:38 left in the game and that was the knock-out punch.

Here's a video reminder with score.

Doesn’t everybody say that? I was in BR for the GATOR game this year and 2 other times, and while its a great environment, its not something that is “the end all be all”. Get over yourself.
Have you ever been to the SWAMP? Fans and players have never seen anything close to the environment that they will be walking into.

#1 Pretty much all National people say that’s exactly what it is.

#2 Yes I have been to the Swamp and it’s the only place I’ve been I would say is at or near DV’s level. I wouldn’t like UTs chances going in there, either.

#3 For SEC teams who see it every other year is one thing, for teams from other conferences whose away trips are to places like Stillwater and Ames, yeah it’s a shell shock. I’ve seen this movie before my man.

I'd say the same thing if Texas was walking into The Swamp, or Bryant-Denny. Our stadiums collectively sit on the list of every Top 10 for home field advantage.

I went to the LSU - UT game in Austin and that place wasn't shite. It only got loud on 3rd downs and even then it wasn't anywhere close to an SEC stadium. They show shots of Matthew McCaughnehey to hype the crowd for christ sake.

I sat in the middle of the UT student section wearing purple and gold and nobody said shite to me. Try that in The Swamp or Tiger Stadium. UT fans are pussies and know nothing about football.

I actually agree that OU will be tougher than LSU for Texas. OU knows Texas and Tom Herman much better than LSU does. OU recruits to win the Big 12 (which is why I feel they are often in a bad matchup when facing other elite teams in the country).

Plus there will be a lot of pressure to beat OU that there isn't for beat LSU. Texas has to beat OU to win the conference and they have to win the conference to make it to the CFP. A 12-1 Texas that only lost to LSU in BR likely is in. A 11-1 Texas that only lost to Oklahoma would likely have to play them again in the conference title game.

But to be fair I have Texas losing to both OU, LSU, and Baylor so it won't matter.

Ehlinger v. a new LSU defense means they have a fighter's chance, but I doubt they think it will be easy.

Auburn also scored in the final 2 minutes to change a 10 point win into a 3 point win.

You think a 50/50 split (at best for OU) is the same as playing against a top opponent in their home stadium with a 90/10 fan advantage?

The most hostile environment your team ever sees in a given year is your own fans when they boo the shite out of your team.
