Ecstatic! I was going into the season just looking for proof of concept thinking that 6-6/ 7-5 would be awesome.
Oddly the Cats are quite mediocre in nearly every statistical measure except two things that aren’t easily tracked:
1. Clutch plays in key moments.
2. Undeniable belief that every game can be won.
I don’t think the way we are winning is sustainable, but I’m gonna enjoy every minute of it while it is working.

it was that, at least for most of the game, we controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.
I think you are over-estimating what you did on the lines of scrimmage.
You definitely controlled momentum.
But we played like keystone cops for a good bit of the game.
That is on us. Not you

Think those will be going away once the 24 team playoffs begin. Most players will end up just skipping them if they are not in the playoff. Its already happening now.

Above average but not playoff material. I think we split the remaining hard games left and go 8-4
POS:
Defense is very good
DJones has settled in nicely at RB
T Harris & Watkins are very good - neither elite
NEG:
Leavitt feast or famine
OL inconsistency
Can't win on the road
Prince/Weeks/Green out

Simply disappointed. Too much talent for us to be playing like this.

LSU is pretty good at home
Have to break through on road

We will beat everyone at home and lose to everyone on the road

Honest opinion…I turned off the bama game and watched the Auburn/georgia 4th quarter. That’s my opinion on my team!

Start Whitt? No he has no shot.
Lose this weekend, start bowe and see what you have in him. If he doesn’t produce, you know you need to hit the portal asap.

My honest opinion of LSU so far;
Seeing a lot of improvement over the past few seasons. On offense, since Burrow left, we have been very limited on offense. Driving the ball has been a struggle most seasons. Yeah, we did have the Daniels Heisman year, but even then everything revolved around him- passing the ball (to Nabers and Thomas), or him running the ball. We've not had a decent running game from the running backs since 2019.
That has changed. Dilin Jones is performing well. Most of the time it's offtackle, when Kentucky stuffed that we saw outside runs and toss sweeps to him. Leavitt has become a solid passer, turnovers notwithstanding (dude's dropping dimes on people downfield). And Leavitt has shown he can run if necessary, even after the hamstring issue surfaced. We've been getting 25-30 first downs a game. I think the lowest output was 20 first downs against A&M, in a game we won 35-6. We have 20 rushing TDs, we had 10 last year. We have 16 passing touchdowns, we had 20 last year. So we've already outscored last year's team with 5 regular season games and the postseason left.
Defense- still some Jeckyll and Hyde stuff going on like last year, but thus far it's been a little more consistently good. Shut Miss State out. Held A&M to 6.
Won't say we're a lock for the playoffs, but product on the field looks a ton better than it had, and we're expecting it to improve yearly.

You just lost to Auburn at home

Nice win but still building
I think we win 9 games
Ole Miss and LSU are our 2 toughest games left
We will beat Bama, not worried about them one bit. Kalen isn’t “Man Enough” to beat AG and the boyz.

Games scoring over 30 Points
2025
W vs SLU
L vs Houston in the Texas Bowl
2026
6 times so far
LSU offense is much improved. Special teams seems to be the only facet that has been a liability.

It's been a drunk season so far...
It's like we can't get over our hangover.

Every team in the SEC that has had a huge win this season has fallen the following week
Curious to see if Auburn can be the exception on Saturday

I love where LSU sits right now. Leading the conference in offensive and defensive stats, with two really close road losses to highly ranked teams—and Kentucky was one we absolutely should’ve pulled out.
What I’m seeing on the field is leaps and bounds ahead of anything Brian Kelly put together and for this season that was all I truly cared about.
And Sam Leavitt? Go back and watch his interceptions. Only three of the eight were actually bad throws. Is there some karma working against the Tigers this year with that and injuries? Maybe so. And that’s OK. Lane’s gonna have this train humming for a long time.
