Basically each team got a dominating win and the other game was as close as it could be, with LSU edging out on top. Both teams made mistakes friday so that about evened out, though MSU's errors ended up being more costly. The ump was awful and honestly he put our pitchers in a bad spot by having such a tight strike zone late in the game, forcing our pitchers to abandon trying to work the edges of the plate, but it is what it is.

Both teams are close, LSU is slightly better as of now. Both teams have a good shot at hosting. Hopefully we meet again in Hoover

Let's not forget the two "hits" that Bregman nailed at first base.

We didn't lose a series to UCA, that's for certain.

How has State done the last 10 years? Still trying to get that oh so coveted 3rd conference winning season I see.....carry on

What about last innings led? Oh yeah, 2-1.

The scorekeeper is awful. He has done that all year for MSU making errors hits, he does it for MSU and the opponent. Why I don't know

refresh my memory. It was a long weekend but LSU's errors cost us 2 runs on Friday. Yall's errors on Friday cost more than 2 runs?

From what I saw this weekend, I'd be concerned about pitching in a tournament format.

Well that's stupid. LSU's first two starters and bullpen pitched great. LSU had a bad start from a guy with an ERA below 1 on Sunday. It's like that one good win on Sunday makes it like Friday and Saturday didn't happen to State fans.

I'm not concerned about tournament pitching. I'm concerned about Mississippi State making a regional tournament after losing two series in a row at home.

it's over - next week end

when you get to omaha - you only need to win 5 games - you do not need a deep staff

Or beating teams in two games instead of three in a series. Played stagnant because the game didn't have much meaning other than a strong SEC start.

You (and the OP) failed to consider the fact that the games were played on Mississippi State's home field.

Man I hate some of our fans some times...they are fricking idiots and obnoxious.

Pretty fair assessment. I'm not too worried about our pen. Friday they pitched 4 1/3 gave up 1 hit and 0 runs. Sunday was just a bad day all around for LSU pitching. Hopefully it's a game we will forget and move on to Auburn.

You guys got absolutely shelled by the first decent lineup you face all season.

My opinion of your pitching staff is that it's mediocre at best.

Honest assessment...It's bush league to throw at a college kids head just because he jacks a few home runs against a team that led 15 of 24 innings.
