I was particularly impressed with your shortstop. Nola and Eades both seem to be studs, but pitching seemed to drop off dramatically after that. From what I saw this weekend, I'd be concerned about pitching in a tournament format.

I was impressed with your Sunday starter. From what I saw I'd be concerned with having to play 3 games every weekend.

Nice review OP! I thought y'all played well at times. Y'all started off hot Friday and really shut it down after, scoring two runs in 2 innings. I think Renfroe is a special player. Y'all's pitching was decent but on Sunday it was superb. Graveman has excellent command of his sinker and was really throwing off our hitters. I thought LSU played good and got clutch hits. We played sloppy on Friday, from pitching and fielding buut thankfully Katz bailed us out. Saturday was out best performance IMO. Eades pitched really well and the defense played good and again got clutch hits, from what I saw anyway I was at a bar watching during st pattys day. All in all I was pleased with the results but we definitely have some things we need to work on that hopefully are very fixable. I think state will win some games if their hitting will come around.

Our Sunday started, Glenn, was extremely disappointing. If we lose a game Friday or Saturday we will be screwed bc we basically have no Sunday starter which we need desperately

His 1st bad start of the year and now we are desperate.

Exactly. Glenn had an ERA under 1 going into his first SEC road game against a top 10 team & couldn't find the strike zone. That happens to every pitcher who's ever pitched. Laird, a freshman playing in his first SEC road game, struggled too. This is why we play 30 league games; the best team should be the league champ at the end of the season. St. will be up, don't kid yourself. Mabe despite a arsewipe HC, but they have the talent. And re their official scorer: have you not seen LSU's at work? Raph has had the benefit of more than one questionable call.

Man I hate some of our fans some times...they are fricking idiots and obnoxious.

Pretty fair assessment. I'm not too worried about our pen. Friday they pitched 4 1/3 gave up 1 hit and 0 runs. Sunday was just a bad day all around for LSU pitching. Hopefully it's a game we will forget and move on to Auburn.

Glenn has 2 solid pitches he can throw for strikes, a fastball and change up. That might do good vs ULL or Southeastern but we are playing in the SEC now. IDK how much success Glenn will have as a starter in the SEC.

Take out that one unfortunate pitch and the hoopla that surrounded it, MSU and LSU are still what they have always been - the historical best program in the SEC and the best program of the last 25 years (with apologies to USC - who is the best of the last 5 years.)

Deep starting pitching is no longer a necessity in the current tournament formats. If LSU is good enough to host a home regional, then we will likely draw a decent, but not great first round opponent. LSU, as they have in the past, will likely win that first game by pitching our #3 (Sunday starter) because the combination of starting pitching, bullpen, defense, and LSU's offense should get us through against a 4 seed. Then we will have our best two starting pitchers available to defeat the better teams in the regional. Win 3 games and move on.

In the Super Regional, if you win the first two games, the series is over.

In Omaha the games are so spread out now that you can use 2 starting pitchers for most of the tournament. In 2009 LSU won the national title with 2 great starting pitchers, and 1 average starting pitcher.
