Arkansas fans, what are the thoughts on the 3 new OL starters? Step back from last years OL? Is that negated by Wilson's added mobility?

It will definitely start out as a step back of course because at least two of the starters have never taken a snap at a D1 school (1 juco, 1 true fr).
The guys stepping in were more highly ranked prospects than the outgoing guys if you believe the recruiting sites so we should have more athleticism to work with. I'm sure it will be rough at first but hopefully they can gel as the season goes along. Klenakis seems to be a pretty legit OL coach so I will trust in him to get it together.
I don't think Wilson's mobility will mask their inefficiences at first either.

The biggest issue I have with it is that the other SEC teams (Auburn excepted) ended the season ranked lower than they have now been ranked in the preseason polls, yet Arkansas ended the season @ 12, and then get dropped to 14 on the preseason poll. Granted, we have had some key departures on offense from last season, but so did Bama, Auburn, and others. And our defense looks to be the best it has been in decades this year. Add that to a Bobby Petrino offense, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that we are top-10 potential, and potential is what the preseason polls are all about.

You had more key departues than any other team in the SEC except Auburn. I don't think Arkansas even deserves to be as high as 14.

As it has been stated often on this board, "Arkansas needs to win something before asking for respect." Win one big bowl, win the conference or something then you might get some love.

Hell, they are usually ranked #3. This is as low as I think I have ever seen them ranked. UGA gets waaaaay too much love fr the polsters

Arky will be in the top 10 after the first 3 games of the season. However, they will barely be in the top 25 after consecutive losses to Bama and A&M.

it's not definite, but certainly possible arkansas hits the top 10 early on before playing anyone decent

(4) LSU- (3)Oregon
(7) Boise St. - (22) UGA
(1) OU - (5) FSU
there are two top 10 teams with a guaranteed loss, possibly a third. Arkansas is only 4 teams removed from the top 10.

There is no way they lose one of the first 3 games. The next 2 will determine if Arky is a good team, or an elite team. I do not think they are elite.

I have no problem with preseason rankings. Like I've said many times before it isn't where you start. It's where you finish. We all play in the SEC. We all have a the opportunity to earn a national championship on the field and not in some opinion poll.
