I looked at every P5 coach with 200 wins. The pool couldn’t really get much bigger.

Want me to kick it down to 150?

Nick Saban is better than any of those coaches you listed. Have any of them won 6 national championships? Didn't think so.

Lil' Nicky will probably coach as long as he can.

I honestly think he will die on the sidelines after one of his historic temper tantrums causes him to have an embolism or a heart attack...

Name a single active coach who won a title in his first three years and then fell off the edge of a cliff.

History suggests Chiz was the outlier, not the norm.

Saban would likely be one of the healthiest men on that list.

1. Not a smoker
2. Not a drunk
3. Not overweight
4. Not a womanizer

Let’s face it, with modern medicine, an unlimited budget, and willing living organ donors- including heart donors- Saban will likely remain healthy and live as full a life as a man can.

He will coach until he is 75 at least.

As long as he recruits at a high level, Alabama will compete for championships.

It is what it is.

Oh shite, somebody get Dabo on the phone and tell him to pull his Alabama polo out of storage, just in case.

Pretty interesting analysis. (Not sure why so many are attacking you for it)

Out of curiosity....have any coaches managed to continue success after age 70 or so? (I would try to look it up, but I am not sure where you got your information)

I think it reasonable to expect coaches to fall off a bit after a certain age. Saban is a unique animal, though. It will be interesting to see how he does over the next 2-3 years.

Well, that'd be difficult to do because there aren't many active coaches with a national championship under their belt.

Ed Orgeron
Dabo Sweeney
Nick Saban
Jimbo Fisher
Les Miles
Mack Brown

That's six currently active head coaches with a national championship under their belt. Of those six, half of them aren't even with the program they won their most recent national championship.

Bowden got to 70 but that's the best anyone has done at this level
