Yes you are in the SEC so I will pull for an SEC team over all others...but...you can win the national championship provided two things happen....you guys getting through Oregon/Ohio State winner and UGA getting knocked out by the Boise St/Penn St winner or Notre Dame. If you both make it UGA has already beat you at home and in the SEC title game. The title game with a back up QB. If you do both make it I will have my opportunity to pick the SEC team I will be rooting for...and it ain't Texas. Carry the SEC banner proudly....but with caution. We really are tired of you guys with your false bluster. Lets see how a season in the SEC goes with some real competition on your schedule. The gauntlet that other teams face. Good day mate. Oh I forgot...you got to beat Arizona St also.

UGA would deserve to be favored and they're, in my view, the best team in the country but I don't think it's a forgone conclusion that UGA would win again. Texas could very easily have won the last matchup.
UGA is great though so I'm not wanting to take anything away from them. Good luck to you Dawgs.

We are the only team in the playoffs this year who was in the playoffs last year. I guess that is false bluster.
I was always told Texas couldn't handle an SEC schedule. We just played an SEC schedule, and the defending national champ in their place, and only 1 team beat use. The consensus on this board was we would lose to Michigan, Oklahoma, Arkansas and A&M. That didn't happen.
There are a lot of teams worthy or critisicism more than Texas.

So you think Texas would go 0-3 against those 3 teams? 10-2 would have made the playoffs..

So couple things:
- Much respect for GA, particularly the way they rallied around backup QB. I also have some newfound respect for Kirby; he’s much better at game time adjustments than I thought (and outcoached Sark twice).
- No argument that Texas ended up w easier SEC schedule. Pure luck though. In majority of years if on your schedule you see Michigan in big house, OU in shootout, Fla and GA at home, and road games vs blood rivals Arkansas and A&M, you’d say that’s legit. Not Texas’s fault that literally all but one of those having a down year (except maybe for A&M since 8-4 is norm).
- GA is I think best team in the country and we took yall to OT. Maybe would’ve won in regulation if we had a decent kicker but, woulda coulda shoulda. We got beat. But we also hung with the best team in the country. Will third time be the charm? Dunno
- Now that we’re in SEC I root for SEC teams. But honestly I could care less if you root for Texas or not. Texas is one of a handful of programs that people either love or hate. Similar to Bama, Notre Dame, Yankees, Dodgers, Cowboys. I’d rather be that than a program no one cares about, and the fact that we’re in people’s heads (and all the posts up here about Texas confirms this) means we’re doing something right.

One last point: The “false bluster” to me seems to be coming from SEC fans in general. Chanting “SEC SEC” and then getting run out of the stadium is the definition of false bluster.
