Terrell Owens played in a super bowl 7 weeks after breaking his ankle and tearing ligaments that were surgically repaired. Had 122 yards receiving. Where did you get your medical degree?

Sort of. He had a severely sprained ankle that cause his fibula and tibia to separate, not break. When prepping everything, they found a hairline fracture in his fibula just below the knee. Hairline fractures generally heal on their own pretty quickly. He didn't need any surgical procedure for that and didn't get one. He did have surgery to have a screw inserted to fix the separation of his fibula and tibia. And he bought a hypodermic chamber to basically live in for hours on end a day to speed up the healing time. He also wasn't fully healed before the super bowl, and he was warned that sustaining a hit could potentially end his career, and he played anyways.

I don't know all the details of Waddle's injury, but it's somewhat fruitless to compare different injuries for different players to try to argue if one guy did then another could. Another big difference is one guy was getting paid already (Owens) and another stands a lot to lose if he's not 100% and gets hurt again (Waddle).

If he's 100%, that's great and really an unbelievable recovery. In that case, I hope he plays and plays well. However, if he's not 100% he really needs to evaluate whether or not it's worth the risk with what he has on the line here in the next few months in the NFL draft. I'd hate to see such a talented kid lose millions of dollars by rushing back too soon after an injury. He's already shown heart in making it a goal to come back and try to help his team win, but he also needs to make sure he's not risking his health and career in the process. Lucky for him, he has the best medical care he could ask for

I’ll pull for this guy. Hope he makes an impact and isn’t just a decoy.

Well if you're anywhere as accurate with this as you were with your coaching search, I'm not concerned.

Curly3 Pubes, the list I posted was true, you are still pissed that Steele wasn't selected.

OSU fracked

Read it here first:

Waddle makes huge play with 30 seconds left to secure Tide win.

Goes down as yet another Crimson Tide legend.

I'm pretty sure he's only gonna be in a must play situation if they truly need him.

Why would saban risk his nfl career on one game when he really doesn’t need him

While I’d love to see him play in the NCG, I’d rather he not because he is a special talent and it would be terrible to reinjure himself. This may be nothing more than a ploy to give tOSU something else to work on.

Jesus...

All these posts about he shouldnt play...

What if he wants to fricking play?

Everyone has been bitching about opt-outs and here is a kid who has worked hard to rehab and wants to play in a National Championship with his teammates.

And I'm sure he would like to play in one that we win.

If Waddle, in the season of quitters, as a clear first round pick comes back to play in this game and helps Alabama win, then we should build him a statue, name an award after him, and bring Grantland Rice back from the dead to author a panegyric.

Too bad. The armchair doctors and coaches of the rant have spoken.

This is ridiculous. You think it's Nick Saban's call? You think he's pushing the kid out on the field to play or get hurt?

First, medically he has to be cleared. Then, Waddle and his family have to make the call. Then Coach Saban gets to put him on the field if he's ready and can help the team.

Some players care about the opportunity to play college ball. Some players care about their teammates and coaches and having one last chance to play with them. Some players care about the university. I know this is foreign to LSU and their players, but that's not the case everywhere.

Some people in this thread need to grow up.

If Waddle plays then the WR's on the field will be sick : I would rank them : 1.D.Smith 2.C.Olave 3. G.Wilson 4. Jax Smith -Ngjigba 5. Waddle 6. Jameson Williams

If Ohio State has 3 WRs better than Waddle, then Bama is fricked.
