The only thing unique about this situation is the public manner in which he does this and the fact he has been formally told already by the University not to and he doesn't seem to care.
I think the disassociation just caused Tom to abandon any shred of restraint.

Clay is just desperate for some hits right now.
Well... no. He isn't. But he had an all-time high number of visitors after the "Alabama fans are the dumbest in the nation" article, so there's that.

The players should have to answer the same questions that Johnny Football has to answer and be suspended for a 1/2 game...

What's interesting is that none of the national media guys are acknowledging this story whereas if it was any other school beside Bama it would be front page breaking news

A LOT of difference in what Manziel allegedly did.
His personal assistant was ALLEGED to be selling Manziel's services signing memorabilia.

I think part of that is Travis' fault. In his initial run with this story, he posted every piece of "information" that was tweeted to him without doing any vetting whatsoever. The most obvious example was the photo of "Tom's kiosk" that turned out to not only not be Tom's, but wasn't even in the same mall.

My thoughts exactly. I don't get adults clamoring for an autograph.
Yeah, I don't understand celebrity at all. I get zero excitement seeing someone that's on TV or something in person. There is zero chance I'd pay for an autograph. Sure I'd pick one up in passing, but I wouldn't pay for it.
The highest priced AU item I bought wasn't even player related, it's of Toomer's Corner (not mine, but laid out the same):

Explain Tom's Facebook page???
FWIW, I just don't care. Johnny Manziel was guilty and so are your goofballs. Plainly. Nothing will come of it because of the Jay Bilas rant about the NCAA, who are every bit as guilty as any player. The fun part for me is so many Alabama fans chiming in here with "Nothing to see here, move along" posts.

How does that refute the fact that Travis got pantsed during his initial run with this story?
But I do agree with the rest of your post.

It's also possible, many of the items, he got through fan day signings, sending folks in his place to get them. IF, that's the case, and he's been sent a disassociation letter, there's really little that the University can do. Having said that, I hate leeches like this that gives athletes and the school, even the look of impropriety.

I'm not sure what this means. You apparently spend more time at OKTC than I do :-). In any case the goofball's own Facebook page is to me a much bigger bombshell than anything Travis wrote.
Travis can be annoying. Well, "can be" is probably an understatement. But I don't detect that he's on any sort of mission other than promoting the SEC, which he consistently does. Sure, he picks on Alabama fans. Low-hanging fruit, and all that.

They recognize it for what it is. Offseason trolling.

Clay Travis makes his living trolling the Tide for the dog humpers. He is as worthless as the rest of you inbreds.

90% of the items are from players gone 2+ years. Many of the items he claims to be from this year's players (Norwood gloves, Drake gloves, Mosley gloves, etc.) offer only a picture of a pair of Bama gloves. No signatures, no actual guarantee, etc. Hell, he has like 4 listings for Cyrus's "game worn" national championship jersey. Pretty sure he didn't wear four jerseys in that game.
And lol at trying to post pictures of him at BDS trying to prove he's still around the program. All of the ones poster are from 2009 and earlier
