Ole Miss vs. LSU. Obviously Ole Miss has state and LSU has Bama/A&M? but the Magnolia Bowl is truly one of the most underappreciated games in college football, IMO. Fanbases strongly dislike each other, great history, fantastic color matchup (here's to hoping we wear red). Let's enjoy some moments from past years shall we?
2009: The Spike Game
Lsu Ole Miss 2009
Houston Nutt (haha) was coaching one of the more talented teams Ole Miss has had as LSU and Les Miles rolled into town ranked #8. Dexter McCluster ran for bout a buck fiddy and even threw a TD pass. In true Ole Miss fashion, the rebels gave up a last ditch 4th and 26 (!) with 9 seconds left. Jordan Jefferson runs down the field, Les tells him to spike it and the rest is history.
2010: Jeremiah Masoli!
Lsu Ole Miss 2010
A year after said talented players departed for NFL, Ole Miss strolled into death valley against #5 LSU without a snowball's chance in hell to win. The Rebels put up a hell of a fight but it was not enough to bring the Tigers down. Brandon Bolden, Scotlandville High's finest ran for 90 and 2 tds on his hometown team. And as a bonus we got this
HOW FKIN EASY ??????
2011: Meh. LSU kneeled on our 3 yard line before halftime
2012: Repeat 2010, but with Bo Wallace
Lsu Ole Miss 2012
Almost identical to the 2010 game, Ole Miss came in without a prayer to win the game. However, one important change had taken place: we had the Freezus. Like him or not, the dude can get his team up for a big game. Donte Moncrief caught 3 tds and Bo played his heart out, but a late PR by Odell Beckham Jr. secured the victory for the tigers. absolutely heartbreaking.
2013: Rebs Finally Get One
Lsu Ole Miss 2013
Zach Mettenberger played pretty shitty and that's about the only reason we won this game as once again, the Rebels didn't hold a candle to LSU talent wise. But this was one of the turning points in Freeze's program and showed that we could compete with the big boys if we just got a little help. JA Raider Andrew Ritter hit a game winner with 6 seconds left.
2014: Uh Oh
Lsu Ole Miss 2014
Probably the loudest atmosphere I have ever been in. Ole Miss came in to town ranked third in the country, and LSU was ranked 24. 7-0 at that point in the season, it looked as if ole miss might have a shot to really contend for the playoff after knocking off Alabama earlier that year. Fear not, Tigers, as Bo Wallace and the Ole Miss offense forgot how to play football and the racous Tiger Stadium crowd shut them down. Tigers won 10-7 in an absolute bloodbath.
From here on out, games have not been as exciting/relevant.
2015: Swag Kelly and the high flying rebel offense shut down Fournette en route to a 38-17 victory
2016: Leonard Fournette bent us over and literally was the reason Deontay Anderson, a 4 star safety out of high school, transferred out of the SEC
Leonard trucks Anderson
2017-2020
I have chosen to just erase those games from my memory, but at least JRP ran for bout two fiddy gainst y'all.
Anywho, here is to one of the most underappreciated rivalries in sports. can someone post that picture of DT Shackelford talking shite with 43 from LSU? one of my favorite football pictures of all time.
And to the tigah fans.....enjoy your stay but kindly GFY. Cheers!

Truer words have never been spoken. I'll never forget watching that game and wondering how the hell we were 7-0. Sad thing is we finished that season 2-4 and wasted the greatest defense we've ever had.

LSU seems to be involved in a lot of quirky awesome rivalries- LSU v AU; LSU v UF; LSU v OM. Bama goes without saying. And the LSU/ A&M hate is interesting as well.

I was at the 2013 game and stormed the field. We sat right near TGBFTL. I couldn't hear shite after the game.
I was at the 2014 game and didn't storm the field. We sat directly across the stadium from TGBFTL. I couldn't hear shite after the game.

There is a common denominator here . . . hmmm . . .

I was at the 2010 game. It was not supposed to be close...
We took nine Australians to the game and they said it was the craziest environment they had ever seen. A drunk LSU fan was standing on the bleachers mumbling something, then yelling hello goodbye and frick you.

1972 Ole Miss at LSU John Ferguson's radio call is fantastic.

Those sweet boys in the skipper outfits just want you to like them. Give them a chance!

Great topic and a very under rated rivalry. Here are some others.
1959 "Halloween Night and Cannon Blasts"
Reigning National Champion LSU would defeat Ole Miss 7-0 in Tiger Stadium on a Heisman winning 89 yard punt return from Billy Cannon on Halloween Night.
1972 "The Night the Clock Stopped"
#6 LSU survived an upset bid from unranked Ole Miss in Tiger Stadium by winning the game on a TD pass from QB Bert Jones to RB Brad Davis. Ole Miss fans say the 1972 contest featured a few seconds of free football as the clock stopped running on the final play.
2003 "Oh I tripped..."
This is the biggest LSU/Ole Miss game I have ever experienced. LSU was running toward our 2003 National Championship and took on Ole Miss who was trying to win the SEC West. Eli Manning tripped over his own linemen and the game was lost.
2006 "A Big Comeback Baw!"
Coach O brought his 3-7 Rebels into Tiger Stadium to take on #9 LSU. Ole Miss by assist of Les Miles built a 20-7 lead going into the 4th quarter. The feeling in the stadium was one of panic and extreme discomfort. Luckily LSU rallied and won the game 23-20 in OT. Little did we know that 2 future LSU National Championship winning coaches were on the field.
2020 "The Lane Train"
Somehow a very bad LSU team out gunned the high flying Rebels in Tiger Stadium. We needed this win to avoid our first losing season since 1999 and we managed to get it done.

One of freezes worst called games. I do think if we didn’t get that holding call on that long TD run and go up 14-0 that game goes a different rout. But WAOM

Ole Miss vs. LSU a very underrated rivalry. Two perennial low to mid-tier SEC teams going at it.
