Any reasonable D.A. would know there isn't a likely chance of making 26 counts stick to Mr. Ruggs.. Thus, the D.A. and Attorney(s) for the Defendant will come to a plea of not more than 10 counts against Mr.Ruggs.. Right or wrong this is how our legal system works.

Lastly, the judge will sentence Mr. Ruggs to 2-5(×3), 5-7(×1) 5-10(×1), 10-15(×1) yr sentences.. all to run concurrently. Add all the years up and knock off 40% for good time and Mr. Ruggs will have served an average of taking the lower #'s 26 yrs - 40% good time.

That's 26yrs 10.40 =15.6yrs

And that's a lot! Try it for one day!

Nah just put him in jail for the rest of his life. He was immature at Bama and always was. Should have stayed in school but thug immaturity is brewing all over the country.

A good lawyer gets him out in under 5 years.

Ruggs will do 2 to 5 years Max. I've seen people with public defenders get less than 5 years for DUI that resulted in death. He'll be out by the time he's 25.

The civil suit will ruin him though. Even if he did have a huge liability policy no insurance will pay out due to gross negligence.

What's he being charged with exactly? In Texas it would just be one count of Intoxication Manslaughter and one count of Intoxication Assault (girlfriend). Not sure what Nevada statutes are.

There is no where on this planet that Henry does less than 12yrs!

Bookmark it!

I should have added pending parole. But, it will be hard for him to get out first time up for it.

Allow him to play but half of his earnings go to victim's family. He can do jail time after his NFL career is up.

That's not how real life works. However, I would like to see half his earnings over 50$/yr go to the victim's parents though along with doing the DUI killer speech circuit where he can tell his story and encourage youngn's to not do what he did.

My God, I am still sick over this.

Some of you people are fricking comical.

For starters, your "people" that were in a state other than Nevada are irrelevant.

Secondly, the example and precedent to go by if you want to make a prediction has been posted multiple times. You can bet Scott Gragson didn't have a public defender. That was one year ago, also in Las Vegas. He has enough money to make Ruggs look like a pauper. And his victim sure as hell wasn't screaming as she was burned alive.

Gragson's attorney begged for 6 to 15 years. Judge told him to pound sand.

Scott Gragson had previous DUI conviction. He was repeat offender and killed a mother of 3.

Ruggs has a clean record killed a childless woman and a dog.

Gragson was made an example of for being a habitual drunk driver.

You spelled "POS Lawyer, Corrupt DA, and bought&paid off judge" wrong...

I'm a University of Alabama alumnus, grew up 15 minutes from campus, BLEED Crimson BUT you take someone's life in an act such as drinking and driving then you deserve to spend a good portion of your life in prison... Had he only injured himself by running headfirst into a telephone pole then IMO he should probably get off with a HEFTY fine, community service, and lengthy probation..

Accidents happen but how many lives are destroyed literally every years from VERY PREVENTABLE alcohol related accidents? People make bad choices, we're human, but that doesn't mean that we shouldn't have to pay dearly for bad choices... I've done a LOT of stupid shite in my life... Driving under the influence wasn't one of them(thank God). But if I had, and I'd taken another person's life then I deserve what I get...
