Your handle tells me you were a quota student and my post went right over you're ignorant head.

I'll try to speak more slowly for the mentally challenged this time...

If you think rich white donors are going to keep giving money to people that obviously don't appreciate the opportunity, and actually hate them, you are mistaken, if not fully retarded. You act as if they are obligated to support. Seesh!

So it's really not only the wealthier white kids but also the hispanic kids not playing that's harming the game in a lot of these places. You never know though the Hispanics may come around. I know in Mexico the NFL is pretty popular.

Would be awesome to see an uptick in Hispanics playing football. You’d see some fricking fast corners and wideouts.

Here's the thing.
College football is not played by "wealthier whites".

It's perfectly fine for them to support and watch it, but if they're going to get this bent out of shape over the opinions of those who actually play the game, then it's just not for them.

College football exists because of the players. We as fans should not lose sight of that.

You couldn't be more wrong, if you tried. You have it exactly backwards, demand for entertainment drives it all, to include music and Hollywood.

College football started out as an intermural sport for college credits. Fans drove the popularity that we now have. TV monetized it.

It would be just as popular with an all white team or all black team, absent the current politics.

If you really think that mostly academically challenged athletes, who wouldn't be in most schools without their athletic capability, are calling the shots, you haven't a clue.

I can't tell if this dude is a troll or retarded.
Also no one who is actually upper class says that. They say they are "comfortable" or "well off" it's trashy to say you are rich, and it's even trashier to try to compare yourself. Old money doesn't really speak about their wealth it's a pretty big faux pas.

Come on now...if I’m the richest guy in town and someone asks me “how rich” I am and I come back with “I’m comfortable”....then I’m just going to look like a super fricking a-hole at that point. And Upper class and upper middle class are appropriate ways to refer to people when you’re being a neutral observer discussing a sociological phenomenon.

NFL support among Whites is declining yes, but upper class Whites are certainly still attached to college football, at least to their own school, unless they have been bad for a long time.

Upper class Whites are eager to throw lower class Whites under the bus, to virtue signal. So I don't see them withdrawing support to their college team. For now. But at some point, they may if the anti White crusade continues, and non Confederate monuments keep being toppled.

Have we not been seeing a withdrawal of upper class and middle upper-class whites from college football for some time now?
I think college football has been withdrawing from its base for some time, with the fear of injury lawsuits and political correctness college football is not what it used to be. I used to go to every game I could, now not so much

College football and the way it is today exists because of the fans. If fans didn’t care college football would look like college volleyball and there would be no nfl. The fans are the reason these athletes have the platforms they have. They are too stupid to realize who pays their bills.

I can say that the white kids I know would die for the opportunity to play for ANY SEC team. The reality is that minority kids see this as a way to get paid in the end game...not that they do not enjoy the game, but it is an opportunity to get out of some of the worst places you could imagine having to live in. I pray that my boys love the game and play it because the love the game. But in reality, from what I have seen to this point, they will not play DI football, and ultimately, whether it kills me financially, I will find a way to pay...or at least help them pay for college. I am not a wealthy white dad/father but I will not abandoned the game, why?, because my boys love it. But the simple reality is, the minority athlete sees this as a way out of bad situations and could change the projection of their entire family.

That being said, I wish more minorities played baseball, even though it is harder to organize, so that they could have the ability to save their bodies and have a shot at guaranteed money.

If I had the money to do it, I would provide the opportunity (fields, equipment, quality coaching) to give those kids the opportunity.

So much untapped potential for baseball with those kids.

Obviously the discussion is verboten, but I wonder if coaches are reluctant to recruit white kids to certain positions. You can't tell me that there has been no white player who could play cornerback in big time CFB or the NFL since Dustin Fox and Jason Sehorn

Attendance has been declining nationwide for years. CFB programs overplayed their hands in jacking up ticket prices and donation requirements, at the same time high production value telecasts of pretty much every game of the season became easily accessible on basic cable.

More and more people are abandoning the live experience for the living room experience, and it's a lot harder to foster the passion and tradition of a program over the TV.

So yes, I think a lot of folks are becoming much more laid back about football than they used to be because they aren't as personally involved in the sport as they used to be.
