The sad thing is that not one person posting in this thread will ever be alive to see the U.S. in a WC semi final much less a final.
Thank god I was at the 1930 World Cup then.

Can we appeal their appeal?

England is embarrassing at the World Cup on a regular basis. On paper they should be multiple time champions. It's still ridiculous that they look as bad as they do with the players they have.
The Notre Dame of soccer.

Embarrassing that a team with England's talent looks like this against Mexico. I don't care where they're playing.
England hasn’t looked like world beaters in their other World Cup games, did you really expect them to turn it on against Mexico in their home stadium?

Argentina looked overmatched and resorted to constant bush league flopping.
They looked like they paced themselves for a 90 minute game and got more than they bargained for. It’s a shame that Cape Verde couldn’t pull it off, but still one of the best games I’ve ever watched.

The embarrassment are Argentinian players faking injuries on every counter against an island nation.

That goal is a highlight if it was against another African team in a friendly. It’s against the world #1 in the World Cup in extra time.

I’m gonna need them to look at that goal from 20 different angles until they find a way to disqualify it.

Unlike American football (at the college level), soccer needs more offense.
I honestly disagree, I think the scoring is good where it is. Soccer games don’t last four hours like college football, so less scoring is fine.
I’d rather see more goals from formerly offside passes and less from penalties though.

There is a new interpretation of the offside rule (the Wenger rule, after former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger) where offside will not be called unless the entire attacker’s body is offside when the ball is played. If there is any crossover, they will be deemed onside.
This change cannot come soon enough. I think it’s the best compromise.

Pulisic’s right foot was off
Unless I don’t understand the rule, you aren’t offside based on a single body part. If any goal scoring part of him is onside, then he’s onside.

Not even close to offside.

I’m not sure if Pulisic needed playing time or Weah needed benching.
