Do you know what the word "experiment" means?

Freeze proves once again that he is one of the better QB coaches in the SEC

LOL. Do you really Freeze is the man who developed Jim Kelly's nephew? That he developed the nephew of an NFL hall of famer?

How cute.

FIFY

I guess. You haven't gotten hammered(yet) and are moderately relevant.

Makes you wonder what he could have accomplished elsewhere, like OSU, Bama, LSU, etc. Not a knock on Ole Miss, but save for a huge chain of events he's going to end up graduating as possibly the best QB in Ole Miss history, and still no ring.

Still, barring some epic meltdown or terrible injury he's going to be a first round draft pick. If that was his only goal, mission accomplished.

Bookmark away. He may do it, I didn't say he could not but it is utter truth that the two quarterbacks that have delivered the success of the last four years came courtesy of Scooba.

Next year he'll almost certainly be starting a kid he developed on his own and we'll get a chance to see what that product can accomplish.

I guess it's true. The question is how is it remotely relevant?

Is it your contention that they learned how to QB from that dumb frick coach at EMCC? If so, that's stupid.

Is it your contention that he's relying on EMCC to identify talent for him? If so, you should recall that Freeze recruited Wallace to ASU and coached him there for a year before he transferred to EMCC.

People say that but we were 4th and 25 away from winning the division ahead of the future National Champion.

Yes, it's been a success. But Kelly is 5th among SEC quarterbacks in rushing, so I'm not sure that qualifies as tops in the conference.

I contend nothing other than Freeze has yet to take a freshman QB and develop him through his entire career, thus his skill as a QB coach is TBD.

It is relevant to the part of the post I quoted - which was about Freeze as a QB coach.

There is no doubt that the Chad Kelly experiment has been a resounding success.

Yes. Very much so.

Swag is breaking records and making a name for himself. He'll be a high second round draft pick if I had to guess, possible low-first rounder if he wins out.

A definite success. Not sure how high he'll be drafted or how well he will do in the pros, but that (to me) isn't nearly as important as college production.

I've said before that a lot of Kelly's long passes are jump-ball passes where he just tosses it up and OM's strong wide receivers take it from the DBs, but Kelly is also able to hit a wide-open Engram 30 yards downfield. Either way, the OM passing game with Kelly is a success.

OP, not a flame, just a question about how you Black Bears feel about him in those losses he's QB'd in. He seemed to have had a lot of turn overs or 3 and outs at various parts of all of those games. Is it fair to put that on him or does the Black Bears' defense, or lack of same, have more to do with the losses? As an example, against Memphis last yr, he was All Pro in the first half, up & down the field. Second half, turn overs, too many 3 & outs..but then Memphis scored a lot of points against the defense.

That's like being mad at Ansu Sesay, a consensus All American in 1998, for missing free throws against Valpo in the NCAA Tournament. Sesay was the reason we even got to that point. Same with Swag. It's also not his fault his line failed him at times and our receivers drop a few passes.
