Dawgs are really good at basketball, it is just the game that involves women. I think they have been to a half dozen NCAA Final Fours. Sadly Dawg fans do not see these women win.
You got me there, Cheese. FYI, I think more people do go to the womens BB games than the men at UGA. So, while not a lot of people are seeing them, more see them than see our men play unless UK, UF or UT are in town. Those schools travel with more fans than we bring to home basketball games.
Mostly, my post was just to illustrate that claiming to own us in BB was not of any real concern to most SEC fans, and UGA fans in particular.

Oh frick all of you! Nobody gives a shite about this we don't belong shite, and when we start knocking SEC teams off like James Franklin (the coach) does wo(men) we will be a force and run shite in the SEC East before too long

This thread is lasting longer than I thought.

You have to get a coach who understands how you have to recruit depth in this league first. Pinkel is convinced he can put his first 22 out there and count on them to win against teams that are 3 deep at most positions. You just get worn down and beaten down by the end of the season.
The other thing is the schedule...frontloaded all cupcakes so now you MUST weather the SEC grind 8 in a row to end the season.
Honestly, I am not trolling, but I can easily see your 4-0 start ending in a 6-6 or 7-5 season.

My work here is done. You didn't catch that I was equating your BB domination with ours in the other irrelevant sports to an SEC fan.
Oh, I caught that YOU don't think Men's basketball means squat in a football centric league. The rest of the country (and Mike Slive) however, disagree with you. Men's basketball makes money. The Vagasil sports do not.
And Missouri is going to make the SEC money in both on the SEC Network.
We're carrying our weight and deserve to be here. You best deal with it.

Didn't read the thread, but I think I've seen them once or twice. However, I was just thinking about this last night when I couldn't find their game. Seems like they're getting shafted.

How does somebody that prides themselves on being knowledgeable on College Football "forget" somebody is in a conference?
Are you slow?
Are you slow?

Ya this whole "forgot you were in the conference" thing is a lazy troll. I mean c'mon y'all are SEC fans you're supposed to be rabid

Dude, look in the mirror...
Missouri fans aren't delusional enough not to know their stature (or lack thereof) in the SEC. We're outsiders who have a long-long way to go to be anything but a bottom-middle program in football.
What's laughable is Arkansas fans think 20 years in the SEC makes them anything different than us.
Dude, you're OUTSIDERS - a SWAC school. A bottom-middle feeder in football. You're just in denial of those facts.
And right after I give Mizzou a little sympathy, I read this. Should have known better.
To be quite honest, I don't even know what to make of your comments. Are you saying that we don't belong in the SEC because we're culturally different, geographically misplaced or that we're not historically prestigious enough, even though we're rated higher then Auburn, A&M and Missouri on pretty much every prestige list you'll find.
Posted on 9/29/13 at 4:43 pm to Stripes314
Stripes ... Anyone who knows anything about collegiate sports/quality universities knows that Mizzou hit a skid (all programs have them) at an unfortunate time.
Most of us know y'all will be fine.

I saw them on the BTN and ESPNU. They were on CSS this last weekend.
This seems like a weak troll attempt.

Don't worry, he has. He's from Georgia. It's a given.
This is the part of his post that made me laugh...

As if last year didn't teach Pinkel all he'd ever need to know on the subject of depth in the SEC. He lost his starting RB, most of his OLine, and his starting quarterback for a stretch - with the reserves filling in miserably. And we still damn near made a bowl game.

So much stupid in this thread

All of it has made me laugh actually.
Nice and classy with the "go frick your sister bit"
I haven't spent a single word here trolling. Just giving my honest opinion of the situation.
You have a different opinion about it. That's fine.
I have not resorted to sophomoric jabs and the sort of backhanded comments that a woman would resort to but good for you.
I do not value Mizzou in the SEC in any way. I believe them to be about as bad a fit as any school can be, and am resigned to the fact that the SEC and Mizzou are stuck with each other for the foreseeable future.
If you want to believe that mens basketball is a heavy cash cow to this conference, go right ahead and run with that.
I would like to see some numbers to support the notion of the KC and St Louis markets adding millions of viewers to the conferences tv numbers.
If you can show a solid bump due to those markets being added, Ill back off a bit.
I don't troll. Just the truth as I see it. I personally think trolling an awful pastime.

Ya know, all we really need to do is play LSU in football. After that, LSU ranters will declare we are world beaters, win or lose.

I know you were responding to the other poster but let go of the troll hook and focus on the big picture.
If you really listen to Slive the message he is sending that existing revenue streams from CFB and MCBB are given but the growth for the SEC is in sports like baseball and WCBB because it provides year round TV content AND year round exposure. If the SEC TV thing works you need content 24/7/365 or 61,320 hours of content each and every year. Like the Florida vs Mizzou (LIVE) soccer game on ESPN today, it is about content. CFB fills 3-4 months and you want folks to buy the channel for the full year to max out your carriage values.
I am okay with Mizzou being in the SEC but if you really want to carry your weight then get folks to all the sports so Mizzou will be in demand during the full year when they need SEC TV content and can show stands full of rabid fans. Empty seats look terrible on TV no matter what the sport is. The key issue fir the Tigers will be taking the core around Columbia and infecting the rest of the state with similar passion. This will be an uphill battle in a large state with multiple pro teams but it should be possible or the home office in Birmingham would not have done it.
"In Slive We Trust"
Peace out.

There has been zero impact on the SEC due to Mizzou and aTm's addition to this point other than splitting the pot two more ways. The real money comes with the future SEC network and getting a significantly higher per subscriber fee from homes in Missouri and Texas along with all the other SEC states.
It's always been that way and it likely will until the cable/satellite delivery of content system goes the way of the dodo.
Other than that, there's nothing good about Mizzou in the SEC other than whatever people decide having another AAU school is worth and having another good college town to visit for away games.
