I'm looking to go there for one game this year for football. Was curious...
1. Overall experience
2. Which sections should I
consider
3. Any suggestions on what to
while there
I'd be going to an in conference game. A week when my team either is on a bye or playing a cupcake.
Yes, I know this is a SEC forum.
Thanks for any an all serious answers.

Why not try to go to a big game?

I typically look for a big game to travel to. Several summer vacations sucked up travel funds this year. Scratching TCU off my list would still count

Went to the neutral site game for LSU-TCU in 2013 and they’re the least trashy fan base and hottest I’ve ever seen by a mile
great group and honestly what most school bases here THINK they are
Eta: including Texas, oregon, oregon state, Clemson, Aggie, Arkansas ole miss, state, Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio state, south Carolina, Washington, Alabama, Arizona, Kentucky, Oklahoma, auburn, Florida (these baws are the worst), Wisconsin, etc TCU fans were far and away the best. shite I know I’ve seen more baw but off the top of my head seen quite a few great options

He's upset because I've kicked USC in the teeth numerous times in the last week or so. As I stated in one of those posts, cock fans are by far the most sensitive bunch in the SEC if not all of college football.

Their endzone crowd reminds me of the outfield at Dudy-Noble. Only smaller.

I’ve been to tons of games at TCU, 2 closest friends attended. Can second the fantastic student body enthusiasm, generally good dudes, classy fans, and complete smoke show coeds.
The play in my 20’s was always to arrive on Friday early evening and wait in line at Joe T’s Mexican with a pitcher of margaritas for dinner with a big group and have the best fajitas around, and then to Billy Bob’s for a great concert and dancing. Last time there saw .38 Special. Huge honky tonk but more about the concert and bars (22 throughout the building) than line dancing. Awesome venue trust me.
Saturday wake up, grab brunch on W Berry strip and watch the fan parade, go to the tailgate parking lots adjacent to the stadium, and sit lower bowl 30-40yd line about 30 rows up.
I’m sure it’s gotten tougher / more expensive for seats, but if you’re <30, will have a blast doing the rest of the above and you’ll always be able to scrounge a ticket for somewhere.
If older and maybe not into big group stuff, there are still a ton of great restaurants and bars in the Stockyards. Lonesome Dove is a favorite. Kimball Art museum is also extremely underrated if you have time. Last, Colonial CC has pretty good reciprocity and the course usually isn’t full in the fall. Worth playing Sat morning and skipping an hour or two of AM tailgating.
Of course most of my other time was spent chasing coeds around off-campus housing and going to the Armadillo (college bar).
Fort Worth is a fantastic weekend trip, really fun and clean town. Honestly the football may be the least entertaining part!

Great write up with the exception of Joe T.'s.
I am pretty much over the place now as the food has declined in quality and the prices have shot through the roof. The outdoor area is stil fun but it I can no longer wait 90 minutes for a mediocre Tex Mex meal that costs nearly 30 bucks per person.

I recently opened a branch of my business in Parker County, just west of Ft. Worth. One of my clients has TCU season tickets and invited me and my wife to the West Virginia game. Same day as LSU/Ole Miss, so I'm hoping I don't have to watch it on my phone from the stands. My wife is a casual TCU fan from her dad always watching their games. The TCU fans I know are all good people, so I'm looking forward to it.
I also have a branch down in the Austin area, and have been to a ton of Texas games. I'm 99% sure I've been to a TCU @ UT game, but nothing really stands out from it.
Anyway, FtW is a nice city, as others have said. Look up concerts in the area for the weekend you're looking to go and chances are high you'll have a good time in and around the venue. I'd find a steakhouse before going with tex mex.

I've met both TCU fans. They're okay.

Been to a game in AC stadium in late Sept. Hottest I’ve ever been at a game (includes boilers at UGA and Sunday afternoon Braves games). People huddled in slivers of shade. Most students bagged it at halftime for bars and frat parties.
That said, beautiful stadium and very nice campus.

Demosthenian says it well, above.
Nice stadium, easy to get around. Plan ahead if you want to go to any of the art museums the day before or after.
